I think Bob's advice is absolutely useful, even to a recreational player, which I am as is Florida Phil. His advice has served me well. Clearly the issue here is the fact that FP doesn't have good 99.5% plus games available in his home casino and CS works for him as far as continuing to get recreational value from his play. I don't play CS as I have 99.5% plus games available at Borgata and between the cashback and comp dollars I get very close to a 100% theo, and even over that during promotions. So although I practice what Bob preaches, I totally get where Phil is coming from. Phil definitely has the math skills to be a pro in a better VP market, but there are things more important in life to him. I feel the same way and could not possibly live the lifestyle of a pro. So, closer to Bob as far as how I play, closer to Phil as far as taking this as a recreational hobby. I like both Bob's and Phil's advice

Yes.......
Thank you for the prompt reply to my question, and for going on to elaborate on the effort you exerted to maximize your benefit from this promotion.

I was about 80% sure it was you, having a vague recollection of what you look like from having attended one of your classes about two years ago, and, previous to that, many, many years ago at another venue (Arizona Charlies?).

I am a bit older than you, but even in my younger days, I wouldn't, or couldn't, have played that long.

Our motive for playing, however, is different. We play for low cost (or, better still, negative cost) recreation and entertainment. You play for a living.

There was another promotion going on at South Point at the same time as the double points one - the Uspin thing where every two thousand points of play gave you a spin, up to four spins per day. It was available throughout our four day three night stay at South Point. I have no idea what the average spin generated, but I know I totalled about $195 from fourteen spins. This represented a touch over 0.5% of the coin in needed to earn the spins.

I wish I could say we cleverly organized our trip to be able to take advantage of these promotions, but I can't. As Canadians, we receive no mail at all from South Point, and it is very difficult to be aware of everything that is upcoming there. So, we lucked out.

Again, thanks for responding, and for confirming that when you say you play a certain game at South point under the right conditions, you, in fact, do exactly that.

Car, I use a modified CS even in AC. On max coin, I'd get cleaned like a clock in an hour flat. On min, I can't abide the chump change from great hands. I can't bet on the bail out quad showing up first hour; it almost never does. Starting max and ending min is my worst nightmare. Not an option. Then it's just remorse and regret for the rest of the day.

FAA, What do the nickel pay tables look like in AC?
Because even if the pay table gets reduced down to 9/5 JOB for nickels (98.45%)at max bet, the return would be better than playing single coin quarters on 9/6 JOB (98.37%) . And no more $62.50 royals.

I completely understand Bob Dancer's emnity toward Phil. Phil has basically hijacked Bob's entirety website promoting a strategy that is contrary to everything Bob stands for, and continually implies that Bob is a fraud who encourages people to gamble irresponsibly. I for one have stopped reading this forum often because of Phil's posts. Every so often I come back to see if he's died down, but it never changes. A shame, this used to be a fun and informative forum.
