Webman, you should know by now that we're pretty good at catching the little things that don't mean a hill of beans.

CD, I also played for the most winning hands yet could only surpass 300 once. I only had a 10x mulitplier once or twice in my ~20 tries so not much sense in playing for anything else.

Yes, you guys certainly keep us honest shadowman... it's very much appreciated. I'm sure those scores being off by 10,000 would have confused more people and possibly discouraged them. One of the best things about these contests is seeing how well the results line up with expected values.CD, you seem to have mastered the art of Bonus wins. Even though you didn't get a prize this time I see you on there twice.

CD is amazing. Just think how well he could have done with a high speed connection. He probably would have won all five prizes in both categories.

Thanks!  I was playing a strategy oriented more towards hitting any winners than trying to maximize points.  That included plays like holding any dealt winning hand even with four to RF (except cases with high multipliers).  If you were to check my average score I'm sure it would be in the bottom 10%-20% since I was really just trying for high pairs and passed up opportunities for bigger winners.

Those top scores are really impressive - winning 339 out of 600 hands works out to 56.5%.

EDITED:  To shadowman:  I call this approach WALOT (Waste A Lot Of Time).     On this go-round I happened to have more spare time to put in the contest.  The good news is that I made it through "War and Peace" during reloads.

I completed about 30 sessions and must have dumped another 20 if I reached a point where I felt I wasn't going to end with 300+ winning hands.  I had 9-10 sessions over 300.

I know this has been mentioned before but I thought we should discuss it once again. Loading the entire game every time can be slow, especially when it gets busy even with a high speed connection. It also puts a heavy load on the server.

Obviously, there is some piece of code that gets control when the count of hands goes to zero. Couldn't this code just reset the numbers and go back to the game selection page after opening a new window with the results? We'd have to manually close the window but I think that would be better than reloading the game. What am I missing?

Shadowman, we are working on a method to allow the games to load much more quickly after the first load, not only for contest games but all games with credit tracking. I think this will resolve the issue you are talking about, and dial-up users will appreciate it the most. Additionally, we are securing a new server that will handle far higher loads. These issues will probably not be sorted out before the next contest as we ramp up our efforts for G2E but they should come soon after that.

Great. Sounds like a nice Xmas present for CD and Faygo.

Now, for my present ... what would it actually take to get a 10x multiplier once in awhile?  I figure at my current rate I will a 10x royal on my 235810 birthday.

Shadow, I'd be happy to get one with a 3X multiplier. It can get quite frustrating when you have a limited time frame to play once a day and don't really land any good hits in 2-4 sessions. I have to congratulate those who did have the perserverance and luck to get the winning hits.
