Re: Money Management Question?
I enjoy DDB and have had some nice payouts. MY problem with DDB is the long dry spells. It seems like the machines are either hot or cold (mostly). Many times, I'll play DDB for $50 just to get it out of my system, them switch to JB. My wife does the same thing. It's amazing how many times you can hit 4 of a kind on the first hand or to.

I think we should handle our money management the way our government does....Just take out a huge lone, preferably from China. Play with all you want, on every machine, with no regard to pay tables, and if you go into bankruptcy don't fret, just sign up for all the gov.bail out programs that are paid for from those rich peoples taxes.....I better quit before I get in trouble...LOL

I like the no-lose scenario. If you win on your own, great; if not, take the bailout and let those great-great-great grandchildren foot the bill.

I am heading to vegas this coming weekend. (Bowling tournment )But I need some advice on my VP I want to play DDB or TB I perfer DW. I want to play Quartes or better. I like 10 play but can't afford that on my bank. So I was thinking triple play. Now my Question. How much money should I invest in a machine before I cut my loses and walk away from it and go back to nickles. I know there are long dry spells and the RNG has a mind of it's own. But when should I decide that the RNG hates me. Thanks

I'm mainly a quarters player, but I do get the itch for some 50-cent and $1 play now and again. I simply decide in advance what dollar amount I'm going to invest in it, leaving myself enough for more quarter play using the assumption that I won't be hitting any big winners on what (for me) is that higher denomination play.

Pssttt, I don't think it matters how much anyone starts with as long as they NEVER start with more than you can afford to loose. It's different for everyone...Some people buy a BMW and some an economy car...plan to loose and rejoice if you win...If you are just playing for the absolute fun of playing then if you win you can play on "their" money which I rather like doing...Sometimes I don't take home my winnings but I don't go home a looser either and I have a lot of fun....BUT since you asked, my rule of thumb is I put $100 in a Triple play machine, $20 in a single line $.25 and $40 in a $.50 machine...That works for me. If any of those let me play for what I consider a LONG time I might invest a bit more...If it just goes right south I usually switch machines...Of course then sure as fate someone will sit at your old machine and hit a Royal...

Pssttt, there's no rule of thumb that works. There's a reason the word random is part of RNG. One time you might put in $20 and lose it, stick in another $20 and win big. Another time you might keep losing no matter what you do.
You can't beat the system when there's no system to beat. All you can do is whatever makes YOU comfortable. I think that is the key, stay within your bankroll as kjohn mentioned and have fun.

thanks for the help. I think thats what I'll do play for the fun of it. I never take more than I can afford to lose and I leave the plastic at home.
