I'll try this again. Previous two posts were mine.

Whoops! I didn't know I was signed in on my wife's account. Previous post was mine.  Try the "log out" button at the top of the forum page but below the main
navigation (there are 2 up there). For some reason the main logout and the forum software
aren't the best of friends at the moment.
I can't fathom why, even though it "takes only one ticket to win", people seem unwilling to acknowledge that if you have 25000 of those chances, you are a lot more likely to have one drawn.

With a $312M jackpot Wednesday night, how many Powerball tickets do you have to buy to get an 'advantage" ?
One of every possible number. C'mon that wasn't that hard.
if you only have one drawing, and then all of your entries are discarded, whatever advantage you believe that you had evaporates with the drawing of one of your non-tickets.

Well, yes.

But, for that particular drawing, do you not think that a person with 25000 entries had a better chance of having a winner?
"Chance" - of course. Enough advantage to make it a positive play? Not so much, given the relatively small top prize, and the investment required to get to that level of entries.

Assuming no multiple winners, though. What happens to that play if there are ten winners?
Investment of time and effort, maybe, but there are positive games through the whole ticket earning process.  Barely positive, but positive.  99.82% plus 2X points is 100.02%  Takes a little over two hours to put $10K through for me.  But playing video poker is fun.

I see what you mean.  I obviously didn't know you had to log out on both the home and forum pages to be really logged out.

Now that's insulting to all of the old ladies of the world...
