I guess one man's steak is another man's plain donut. no no no no no!!!  Not Plain donut ........   !       I eat Jelly, glazed, sugar twist and the occasssional coffee roll which is typically doused in cinnamon!!!GIMME A LITTLE CREDIT TEDLARK, I may be a kook and a total whackjob about some topics, but I am not so plain and boring when it comes to my DONUTS!!!!!!
You haven't lived until you have tried homeade cinnamon donuts from those little mom and pop places, some local diners, or in my case a local nursery and farm market that just happens to be on the way to Mohegan Sun.

makes you realize and understand just how OVERPRICED most casino food usually is, so that when a customer gets comped they perceive FAR greater value than they actually are getting.

Hmmm - Dollars I have to spend when I get comped... ZERO.  I don't really care what the list price is. If the food is good, that is value to me.
Yeah, I get it Billyjoe. But I am very selective where and when and how I use my comps......I would rather have 7 morning visits for coffee and donuts comps at my favorite cafe (say, 6 comp dollars per visit, times 7 for a total of 42 comp dollars spent)   versus  having a good steak ONCE at 40 comp dollars.   to each their own
Well, I am fortunate to not have to choose. When I say comped, I mean paid by the casino, not from any point or dollar balance that I may have that is associated with my Players Card. By establishing my play at the two large casino groups, CET and MGM, I do not pay for any food at any of their properties, provided that I am staying at a property in their group. The exception is in AC, where I have to have my host @ Caesars write a comp ahead of time for dinner, since they are a "reward credit first' location. Other than that, my reward credits do not get used for food.

If they want my play, they can feed me..

Well, as I sit here in AC having just checked OUT of the AC club, the actual topic of this thread, and since we are also talking about FOOD and comps and whatnot,  let me tell ya'll about this "$1 comp Winter Conrucopia Buffet" I forced myself to eat last nite at AC CLUB because it was too cold and rainy to go outside to any other place in AC.....

Here's my review of the AC Club's Buffet of last nite, Friday, December 6, 2013:

It sucked.....I mean, really really sucked.

I hope you guys find this informative and helpful in choosing your gustatory delights next trip to AC.   I'm Daburglar and I am here to help.

Edited to Add a balance to this one-sided post:   On the positive side, AC Ckub's cafe cappucino, which I had feared might have closed down due to ongoing financial problems, is still kicking, and the donuts were as good as always....this morning before checking out, I had two wonderfully delcious glazed donuts which adequately soaked up all the stomach acid still churning in my tummy at 7 a.m. from the previous night's buffet (see review above.)

My room was nice too, with its jacuzzi tub (does wonders for my legs and back, one of the reasons I still choose to STAY in AC Club....and the still 5 bucks a nite state tourism fees beat the hell out of 13 and 15 bucks a nite  from Caesars and Trump respectively.)
