I totally agree.  I've had hobbies in my life that would make the cost of playing video poker look like peanuts.  At this stage of our life, traveling around the country on casino road trips, staying in great resorts and playing video poker is more fun than any other thing we could do. What matters most is not how much you spend, lose or win, it's whether or not you are getting your money's worth. P.S. Disney World just raised the price of their tickets to $105 per person and they won't let you win any of it back...

I don't which I miss more...no vp because of the horrible winter, or Small World which I rode 12 times in one day back in the 80's. Haven't been back since though.

edited just to say my response was supposed to be outside of Phil's box.

I am nearby the inferior resort, Disneyland. I agree that It's a Small World ride is of great value, standing on 1-3 hour long lines, you will get to ride at least 12 minutes whereas the other attractions are 3 minutes on average. I guess you will miss VP more since 30 years is a lot of changes at DisneyWorld and you do not know what to expect anymore.
I only have an issue with the concept of "getting your money's
worth..."  This obviously is DIFFERENT for each and every person or
player, because it is entirely subjective and hinges on each person's
opinion and PERCEPTION!
I think this sums it up pretty well. Getting your money's worth has a different definition for each player.  The first 8 years or so that I played video poker, my dream was to hit a big jackpot and walk away rich.  I was always moving up in denomination and I played a lot of bad games that I didn't have the bankroll for.  I had some great days, but lost most of the time and I have to say I was a pretty unhappy player.  These days I've think I've matured as a player and have a much better handle on the game and how the process works.  My current goal is to break even for the day and let the jackpots take care of themselves. This strategy works for me and I am very happy with the results. To get your money's worth you need to sit down and identify the reason you are playing video poker in the first place, then think about whether your goal is reasonably attainable with the games you have available to you and your bankroll.  If not, you need to rethink your goal until you get the balance right.
