Re: Deuces Wild Bonus Questions
Thanks for the info. I don't think they have this game in Biloxi, but I've never looked for it. I think I'll try DWB and stay away from the high variance versions. If I'm going to take a shot like that, I would probably go to DDB. I play DDB once in a great while just for something different. I usually give up quick as I haven't hit a decent DDB quad in months. All I have to do is switch back to DW and the quad aces are all over the place.Â
The high variance version is Double Bonus Deuces Wild (DBDW), it is hard to find at full pay.

If any of the gang make it up to Mohegan Sun, The multi strike machines offer DBDW with a 98.6 paytable even on the nickel game. Just because it is on Multi Strike, doesn't mean you can't play it on the bottom line. I played all last night until around 7 this morning. I did play it on all 4 lines though. Early on, I hit deuces quads on the bottom line without the kicker. Later, I caught a few Wild Royals and 5 of a kinds ( the good ones ) on upper lines. Cashed out ahead on the machine, but gave it back in short order to Double Down Stud Deuces Wild on a quarter game. I was playing the nickels on the DBDW game. Not long after I quit for the day and was getting ready to head home after a short nap, I walked by again and someone had just been dealt Deuces Quads on the Double Down Stud machine I had been playing and left it up on the game when the cashed out 706 bucks. I know that is the way it goes more often than not and if I had seen the person hit it, I would have still gave them a congrats assuming they weren't one of two weirdo chain cigar smoking types who puff away on their inch round foot long cigar at 6 in the morning with no regard for who is playing around them. Unfortunately, both of the above games are not available in the non smoking area at Mohegan Sun. The lone Double Down Stud machine that was in the non smoking room was yanked a couple of weeks ago.

It is best to play high variance games on low denominations if you want to stretch the bankroll. The Multi-Strike gimmick adds about 0.25% to the return to most games provided the player makes the full feature bet.
Sorry to hear the loss of the Double Down Stud machine, I heard the game is becoming extinct.

Speaking of Multi-Strike, I haven't closely reviewed the strategy on it, but I have noticed some plays I wouldn't normally make work better when holding different cards on the DBDW game. For instance when playing all 4 lines, on the bottom line, I prefer to hold 2 deuces instead of going for the straight flush even though I would only need 1 card to complete it. I find holding a lone deuce and not going for a straight flush with say a deuce and suited 6,7 or higher is better. I even seem to do better not going for a wild royal with a deuce and 2 suited high cards. Of course keeping a pair and not going for a normal flush is automatic on this game along with keeping the lone deuce and forgetting about any of the straights. Finally, when you have 2 pair, just keeping the lower pair and forgetting about the full house is better by a mile. I am referring to the 98.6 game where the wild royal pays 25 for 1. My gut feeling on the above is that my biggest mistake math wise is not going for the wild royal and keeping the lone deuce. I started doing that when a few sessions ago after playing 8 hours I never completed 1 wild royal holding the deuce and 2 suited high cards.

Multi-Strike is a tough game to learn to play optimally. Hold strategy changes with each level, with the emphasis at the lower levels hitting a paying hand to advance upwards.
At one time, there was an article available to show how to determine the best holds at each level. I can't find it now.

Olds,
Here is the strategy sheet that I use when playing Multi-Strike Double Bonus Deuces on this site.
I don't know if it is for the same pay table that you play at the casino, but you and anyone else are welcome to use it.
No guarantees though!!!
