Re: trip to cherokee
Good for you notes. As I always said: if a few big trips help offset the bad trips. And at the end of the year total losses are a thousand or two, while having a good time and eating some comp meals- I can call it square.

good luck! you are a much higher roller than me, to get free meals at ruth's. long time between RF??, when you got two in one day, just a couple of months ago. i guess our definition of a 'long' time is different.
Thanks for the reply Notes. Probably not any higher roller than you I suppose. The Ruth's dinner was just the annual celebration meal for Diamond players. The reference to long time had to do with # hands between royals - to date I've played about 250,000 hands at Cherokee, and after yesterday now have 3 RFs in all those hands, which is close to 2x the usual 40,000 hands per royal. But maybe the gods are looking more favorably on me, as yesterday was one of my few profitable days there. Hope there will be more in the future,as it's the nearest casino to my home in SC and I've been getting there more frequently than LV or FL. Good luck to all...

i absolutely agree with the premise of your comment. sometimes we forget we are getting something in return for taking up space in a casino. i think the big discussion over the past couple of years has been, what is the fair amount of loss in regards to what we get? many feel the cost has gone too high.

My husband and I went to Cherokee over the Memorial Day weekend (we go about once a month as it is only a 2 hour drive). We both did really well. I play $5-$25 machines depending on my mood and bankroll. In two days, I hit awak 3 times for 20k each and twice w/o kicker for 8k each. Also hit babies w/k for 8k a few times, as well as the assorted 4oaks. I split my jackpots between checks and cash, so I would not be tempted to put it all back. Ended up bringing home $105k.
My husband plays blackjack mostly and he did quite well so he went to the craps tables and killed it. He cashed in for 130k (always has to one-up me).
We were supposed to stay thru Sunday but decided to go home with our winnings on Saturday. Lo and behold, later in the week, we get a call from our host offering us 5k each if we come back by the end of the month. We took a rain check. Guess we affected their monthly profit
We have another trip planned in a week. We'll take a picture of our new boat that Cherokee bought us

Whoah, that is some high rolling from someone other than Mr. Dancer. Congrats on your winning trip!
Do you get more than outstanding comps for playing those denominations? I know the answer is probably yes, but I was curious since good Video Poker tables do not usually generate good comps at CET properties.
I dug up old posts on these forums that 9/5 Jacks or Better is more superior than 9/6 Jacks of Better at CET in Vegas.
The best paying VP games at Cherokee I hear from the Alan Best Buy forums are the ones at the $5 stakes you are playing at. A huge difference from the 25c ones most recreational players play at.

that a wonderful couple of days. now i know why cherokee offers me a pup tent out back, as a free room, compared to the big time gamblers. as we both go to the same casino, i will send you my address for the new 'boat' weekend cruise party invitation, you are sure to be sending me. congrats.

Wow Buff, great news. I hope you enjoy your new boat.
Edited to add: Buff I think "AWAK" would be a crackerjack name for your new boat.

I see the answer to my question fair enough. One of the rare places that offer DDB Plus.

Free play comps are based on daily average play, so a two-day trip playing $5-$25 vp machines adds up fast, although it takes a couple of months to see that in the coupon mailings. The more immediate comps come from our host, be it shopping, spa, food, whatever we want.
Notes, you are welcome to pitch your pup tent in our 21st floor suite. Plenty of room. I've heard that 2101 took $1 million to furnish. It has white leather everything, if that's your taste. I prefer 2109 which has a more rustic feel with oak wood. But then again, a room is just a place to rest your head in between gaming sessions
Good luck to all on your future casino trips.
