Congratulations on the windfalls! What a fortuitous day. Yeah, NYS machines suck long term, but who the hell cares with results like this? I'm not sure what the heck Empire has to do with your nephew's graduation. But whatever floats his boat I guess. After reading this, maybe I should keep banging away at the machine on which I hit a Royal six months ago after all. Who the hell knows?Hey, you never know.

i do not think anyone was attempting to deminish the posters win or burst the bubble. it was just an effort to provide information, that some may not know. pointing out whether a machine pays 99% vs 98.5%, seems nit picky to me, but mentioning the difference between class 2 and 3 machines, is likely something, many players do not know.   pointing out facts these days is likely to one called called a racist, ****phobe, sexist, 1%er, etc. how is anyone supposed to learn anything. sad.

I'm with you notes, Vman is probably one of the most knowledgeable posters on this site, the information he expresses is there to be helpful not condescending.

And whether if luvz knew (or cared) that she was playing a VLT or not, who cares. If the wins made her happy, and better yet a PROFIT, then bully for her.

I also think that it wasn't Vman's intention to throw a bucket of ice cold straight off the glacier water on luvz either.

Yup...exactly...whatever kind of machine it is (lottery terminal, bingo Terminal, etc) a $2000 win is a $2000 win...
I think what everyone is trying to say is...Don't expect a "fair shake" on Class II machines...it's more like playing a slot machine, only less "random".
But a win is a win (as my friend who play $25 slots says)

Takes a lot more than that to piss on my fireworks!!  LOL!!  And the nephew was in NY graduating, and I went to his party in NY and Empire in is NY!!  If it's the only game in town for my sister, she either plays it or waits to go to AC.  I am looking forward to giving great news about my upcoming trip with Fuzzball (FuzzyWuzzaBear) to LV! And VMan, you do come off as condescending - obviously you're a graduate of the Bob Dancer School of Extreme Modesty...yes, I was the one who asked him when he was being particularly rude to me in a thread if when he traveled he booked 2 seats - one for him and one for his monster overinflated ego.

Congrats on your win but it is very classless to post about someones character when the intent is to be helpful. I do not know what exactly you seek from the forums other than attention, but the knowledge Bob Dancer provides is invaluable.

It wasn't my intention to be condensending to her. It also didn't help that i was the first to respond. And please note that I began with an apologetic phrase, when was the last time you saw that from Bob? But given her responses, she obviously thought it was an attack. I dunno how many times I've brought this topic up after someone posted an outing to one of these racinos or casinos that have this misleading type of video poker (maybe 5 to 10 times?), but it's definitely the first time someone has been defensive over it. More people definitely appreciated the warning!

What I get for trying to be helpful I guess and informing her (and much more importantly her own sister who regularly plays these!) for what these machines really are, slot machines with poker cards. I can guarantee you that most players there assume these machines behave just like they do in vegas and that states allow this is a travesty to me!
