Re: Something totally different
My AC bankroll is usually an eighth of yours or less, so anything beyond quarter play is asking for a bust. And anything beyond 80% min coin play is asking for a swift bust.

I stuck with Harrah's because I never found any luck in any of the other AC Casinos. My bank rolls used to be huge, but now I pretty much keep them below 1k and this most recent one was 500 with 300 FP. I only played 50c 5 handed STP DDB and was pretty much holding my own for quite a while. I switched up to 1 dollar 3 handed and that wasn't going anywhere so I dropped to 10 handed quarters.
The lesson I have learned is that sometimes a particular denomination just isn't hitting on a given machine no matter how hard you try so switching denominations sometimes helps. I used to pound away at a high denom hoping it would come through only to be dissapointed (or sucking back in what good fortune I may have had).

Many of us have been there done that. The hammer till it hits is the killer, you think its gonna come around and the hands never do. I have a rule on JOB when I sit down the first four hands must have a winner in it or out comes the ticket, there is a lot of empty machines where I can find winners on then to hammer away on a dead one.

Thanks for the tip. So very helpful to have my instincts borne out in black and white. I would usually stick around, thinking it's just the ups and downs of the cycle. But it's usually just the downs. We hate picking a loser machine and always want to somehow be vindicated. Yeah, right. Again, definition of insanity.

roveer has now discovered the discipline that I have talked about before. Get a nice winner and go take a nap or just leave and go home if you are able. I'd rather have a pocket full of benjamins than a pocket full of lint. Congrats roveer.

I used to amdire all the pretty pics that the old roveer used to post on a weekly basis. But new roveer seems to be in a better place. I always wondered how (or why) you could keep up pace on the $60/hand you used to bet. Heck, a five minute cold streak could wipe out the signer from a few minutes ago. Keep it up.

He's cut it substantially then. Screen shows a mere $15 worth of action. Still way too heavy a play for me.

So you really don't know my old play. Go back and look at my Pics. Some days would produce 10 hand pays. Problem was, it was not disaplined play so I never really took much home. There were times though were I'd go home with 18k in my pocket. My biggest being a 32k 8x royal on STP. As many will tell you, eventually it catches up with you and it did with me. This past year was pretty bad. Kept trying to play at big denoms but wasn't hitting anything. Digs a hole pretty quickly.
Now I'm a reformed player who's taking a totally different approach.

I used to pound away at a high denom hoping it would come through only to be disappointed-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yes. I would keep spending at the casino like a drunken sailor, thinking myself invincible. Learned that lesson the hard way too. There's no money pit like a high denom money pit. Reformation has touched me as well.
