Re: My Mrs. hits a Vman dream hand
Smartphones make things so much easier with pretty pictures...
Speaking of which, will they yell at you (or worse?) if you're caught snapping a pic? I assume photography is still strictly forbidden at casinos, but with the prevalence of smartphones it'd be tough to police. I'd hate to have a jackpot nullified because I snapped a pic, though!!
A few years ago at the Casino Queen they nullified a 6 figure (I think around $200K) Caribbean Stud royal flush jackpot because the woman pulled the cards off the table and past the rail to show him boyfriend she just hit the royal. Surprisingly she didn't go postal!

At most they would demand having the image deleted. The RF card puller blatantly violated the game's rules and regs. Incredibly severe punishment, but I don't know what recourse she may have had at that point if the casino wanted to play hardball.

I've been taking pictures of our jackpots for a couple of years now. I don't try to conceal anything, I just pull out my phone and snap a couple. So far no one has said anything. I never take pictures of people in the casino other than my wife or friends. I imagine that could cause a problem.

The nosy bartenders actually crane their necks out to check my screen when I snap. It's just a quad. What pests.

I've been chastised once in maybe 500 pictures. Actually at the casino where that 4 Aces pic was just taken. He pointed out that it was against their policy, etc. He said the policy is mainly for the privacy of others. I offered to delete the photo and showed him that I just take photos of my own wins in the casino. After that, he said, "you're good".
Jackpots are unlikely to be voided due to a smartphone picture. I don't think I've read it happen. I think it would be more likely if you used your smartphone for VP strategy, but again, never read it happening.
The Caribbean Stud example is completely different. Cards off the table = Possible cheating opportunity.

Hi Vman. See the edit from I think yesterday on my original post. The wife thought she had a 12 multiplier when it was a 4 which got doubled to 8 on double STP. I was on another machine nearby when she hit it so I only got to see the voucher. The math comes out this way....400 for the aces on DDB with the kicker times 7 for the max bet, times 8 for the multiplier or 22,400 nickels. She also got paid for the 3 aces on the other 2 lines. She thought she had a 12 because she added 4 and 8 together when the machine means they are doubling the 4 to 8. I know you already know this stuff, I'm just repeating for others who may not play the game much like myself. I did try the one next to hers later in the evening and it smoked a hundred faster than you could drink one of your favorite brews while trying to catch a bus before it left you in the dust on a hot street corner in Vegas.

I always take pictures of my hand pays, and no one has ever said anything.

You pay seven credits instead of five to get the multipliers awarded to you, but the base wins come out like typical VP.
So before a multiplier, it's 400 x 5 = 2000 credits for Aces w/kicker, so an 8X multiplier would only be 2000 x 8 + 2 x 15 x 8 = 16,240.
That's why I wondered if she got an 11X, as hitting one Aces w/kicker leads to 2000 x 11 + 2 x 15 x 11 = 22,330 credits.
It's mainly semantics here, the most important part is she got that win in some fashion!
