Mock if you must, fellow grinders. I am certainly no psychic. But a sudden hot pattern of fairly consistent premium hands at one particular place has led me to an educated guess that a quad is indeed coming, especially after an hour of treading water. It's been a correct assumption the majority of the sessions. I just go by my experience. Just a cycle running is course. Am I off base? YMMV. If nobody else has ascertained such tendencies, that is unfortunate.

If you believe you can do it, you will make it come true.  Been there, done that.

I can usually sense when a quad on job is coming, but I never change the way I am playing because my mind tells me that it just can't be true. Anyway, the first way is when the machine starts winning lots of small stuff and you see your credits start building back up instead of the usual downward spiral. Usually within 5 minutes, the quad will hit. The other way is at the other end. You are very low on credits and about ready to give up. You say to yourself, I haven't seen a streak this bad in a long time and are quite disgusted. Then boom the quad hits. Finally, the Royal situation I have experienced over the years. Although I haven't hit any Royals in a long time, over a lifetime of playing a Royal on my game was almost always preceded by a straight flush in the same session on job. Sometime later in the session a Royal hits. I can't remember getting any Royals where this didn't happen except once when I tossed all of my cards and a Royal came up on the draw. In fact, last week I hit a straight flush in low clubs on job and cashed out since it was nearly time to go anyway. I went for coffee and a bagel and about a half hour later I breezed by that machine and a lady was waiting to get paid for a Royal that hit on the machine I had left. She had ten in so good for her. I congratulated her and she had remembered I had been playing at that machine. She said " aren't you upset ". I just no. my turn will come too and in fact I have hit them many years ago in a similar situation.

If, in fact, your intuition is right most of the time, why haven't you been trusting it and betting large at those times?

Fear still prevails. Working on it; too much gambler's remorse lately. Once I make the leap, I'll be fine. It's like most fears, irrational.

Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy. It's the run up we are discerning. We could set our watches by this phenomenon more often than not. Five minutes to VP tension relief. But are we brave enough to up the ante? There's the rub.
