Down approx. 6k from .50 Super Double Bonus and 1.00 9/6 JOB at Borgata. 2 2k royals early in the year, nothing since.

A very rough year, Car. If the .50 SDB was .25 JOB, you may have cut the annual loss in half. I was technically over RFed, with two. But the second was a one coin WTRF while killing time at Borgata. Otherwise, just the early Jan RF. To have two $2,000 RF in January and not break even on the year is horrendous. Perhaps a cautionary tale for me as a Borgata newbie. I'll keep your results in mind!

2015 was a GRRRREAT year!!! Hit 111 Royals, a massive number of AAAA2s, won the casino grand prize drawing almost every week, and also won the Powerball lottery (twice!). Then I woke up.....

This was the first time I played VP for any amount of time. I ended up 23k. I have one last trip to a casino over the weekend. I tried playing JoB, DW44, BP, DB and DDB. I really like DW44. I played a variety of machines for single line, 3 line, 5 line, spin, Ultimate X. I haven't really played enough really figure out which I like best. Again, every casino have different machines, pay tables and stakes so it's hard to decide which I like best. I hope to have another good year and maybe settle into two games/machines.

Oh boy, first a little backstory. In January I learned I would likely be getting layed off in March. Then, a week later we found out my wife was pregnant.
The day we learned the layoff would in fact happen, I hit AWAK and a progressive quarter royal on a freeplay / low bank roll trip (drowning my sorrows). Paid the mortgage and car payment in cash.
I burned 2 weeks vacation to stave off layoff and as the vacation was running out I was recalled to a temporary job at another location. A little less pay, but it kept my health insurance going.
VP trips were about once a month and the train started rolling. Hit AWAK on a $1 machine and made another cash mortgage payment. Then a 2k up day on the $1 machine - variety of good hits with no W2g. Over the next 7 months I went 9 out of 12 winning trips. Capped it all off with a $1 progressive royal. Was up around 5k.
Got recalled to my old job and better wages. A month later my wife gave birth to a healty baby boy. Now that my at home responsibilities have increased I can't go that often, but when I do the results have been dreadful. 6 or 7 loosing trips in a row and all my winnings are likely gone. I lost track.
Then to top it all off, I got transfered again to a lower paying position and the hospital bills are rolling in. Now, I simply don't play. I can't afford to risk a loosing day.
All play was on 99+% DDB and DDB+, usually progressives. I did once dabble on $5 BPdlx, a few hands in hit a quad and got my forth signer or the year.
Free play was minimal. Earned a lot of comps, but haven't redeemed any. Too much trouble to get a babysitter to go to a crab leg dinner.
My moratorium will be until April, when and if I go to Vegas.

While I'm still calculating some of the fuzzy trips I'm only down 2-3k for the year. That is a huge reduction from previous years loss's. Based on the complete variation of the machines it's become obvious that It's not a sustainable hobby unless you invoke extreme money management techniques which I have spent the better part of the year honing.
I will probably continue to play, but I'm getting smarter and losing a lot less. Hopefully that will turn into a profit, if not then I'll likely give it up all together.
Another interesting statistic. Last year I probably had 40-50 hotel stays at Harrah's AC. This year I had 2. That makes me feel good right there. Hope it's showing up in red on their reports as well!

completed my last casino trip for 2015. all numbers are approx, LOST $6500-7000. played all quarter machines, single line, 700/hands hour, 24 trips (30 total days) at 12 hour sessions per day. if i am doing this accurately, i put $300-325k thru the machines.i lost a little more than 2%. i know i played a lot of machines with crappy paytables, as the majority of play was at cherokee. this may seem like a lot/normal/not much of a loss to each player, but actually, i am quite pleased. i had a fair number of $500 and $1000 payouts to save my butt. got 30 nights of free hotel rooms, dozens of meals, a couple of free airline flights, wife got a couple hundred for shopping and access to a great mountain golf course. the casino provided me with a safe, mostly clean place to spend 360 hours playing the game i enjoy. and, they had mostly pretty girls bring me botlles of water, where is an old man going to get that. there is a cost to all those services. 2015 was a fair cost. other years, not so much.

I would agree with you Notes in that you had an ok year. You probably played to the expected return and enjoyed all the freebies that went with it. Entertainment comes with an expected cost whether it is an outing to a ball game, a movie or a night on the town. It beats sitting home doing nothing.
