I can't get to that article any more without subscribing. I guess I should have looked sooner.
I read a couple of Bob Dancer's articles. It sounds like in the tournament I should toss anything at all that doesn't lead to a quad or royal, unless maybe if I'm dealt a flush or something right away with nothing going towards a quad or royal?
His example tournament was for very few hands though. 5 minutes I think. I think we will get 2 15 minute rounds, which could really be a lot of hands. Does that make the between-quad play more important?
I mean, I could hit a quad right away and burn through it entirely if I start throwing things too carelessly?
I know the goal is important. I don't have to get 1st but I would certainly like to play for a prize spot. So I'm not going to throw anything that wouldn't lead to a royal but I do want to be smart on everything that could lead to an upper-tier finish.
Also, I think they said we get two 15 minute rounds on a jacks or better machine. Do you think it's safe to assume that it will be DDB being played ON a j.o.b. machine?

Eduardo, rent a car, rent a car, rent a car. Cabs are very expensive in Vegas. It is very inexpensive to rent a car. I was in vegas in October and it cost me under 100.00 for four nights. We left the airport and was stuck in traffic in the afternoon for 45 minutes trying to get from the airport to Planet Hollywood. It should have taken us 10 minutes from the new car rental building. That would have been a very expensive cab ride. I would say about 50.00

Also, invest the 10 bucks and buy a Thomas guide for Vegas/ Clark county. You'll see how much time you can save by doing a little pre-planning. I've been going over 20 years now and can figure out most destinations but it must be a bear to keep up with all that housing and development constantly happening

Not to mention road construction. Sometimes the best laid plans are botched by a few cones.

It usually starts North of Primm. I usually stay in Henderson about 10 mins. away from the GVR and I encounter the infamous cones everywhere. For you my friend it must be a nightmare!

Eduardo,
I have been going to Vegas for years. Having a vehicle is a must to get around. There is nothing worse than being stuck in one area of Vegas. When I make reservations to fly in I will go to all the major rental car websites to find the best deal. Of course you can get a good deal at websites like Expedia if making resevations for your flight and car all at once. You have to check both options each time because sometimes I have gotten better deals making flight and car reservations separate.
Traveling in Vegas is difficult and will take you a few trips to get to know the best routes. A Thomas Bros will help also. After my first trip to Vegas I realized that it was perilous to try to do everything in one trip. It is impossible, there is too much traffic and people. On subsequent trips I tried to narrow my scope of interest to a reasonable area. For example, one trip I would stay on the strip and learn how to get around there. I spent time on each trip trying to learn the best ways to get around and all the short cuts. After a couple years of this I was pretty good at getting around. Now, I feel more like a resident than a visitor. I try to use streets that are parallel to the main action. I very rarely drive down the strip.
If you want any specific directions I would be glad to help as I am sure many of the Vegas locals would.
