Boopsahoy,

Yes, I'm Bengal Club now.  I'll give my host a call, maybe they can upgrade me before July.  That's too long to wait! LOL

Good luck on the cruise, and also your trip at the Taj!!  May you hit lots of royals!

Boopsahoy,

Well, they weren't able to upgrade me yet, despite my play.  My fiance and I went down today to play a little since today was double cashback.  They told me that I would have to wait till July.. Oh well, something to look forward to!

We ended up playing for about 5 hours on Super Times Pay, and between us, we ended up leaving $60 ahead.. pretty darn good considering that long of a session on STP.  It should have been more since we had some pretty decent hits.  I hit 4 aces on DDB with a 2X multiplier for $400, a str8 flush on 50-cent joker poker for $250, and another quad aces on 50-cent for $400.  My fiance didn't fair so well, pretty much making us even out! LOL

Sorry you couldnt upgrade-I think if you hit Presidents by the midway point they gave it to you-thats how I got it-but my husband just hit it recently and my host told me not till July. Glad you had a winning session on STP-you know how volatile that can be-did you see any handpays? What do you play? 3/5/10 line? .25 or .50, and I think you said DDB? the DW is pretty good too.

Boopsahoy,

No handpays on this trip, but definitely a good trip for cashback.  I ended up getting $191 in cashback because of the 2X cashback day!

As for my play, I do pretty much the same thing every time I play.  I like to be able to play for awhile on my bankroll,  which is normally $800 on each trip that I go.  I try to get there once a week (depending on how I did the previous week.)  I follow very strict guidelines when I play to ensure I don't do something stupid with my money and to try to be able to play the following week.

Here's what I do in a nutshell on my STP sessions..

I break it up into the following sessions:

1.) $0.25 Triple Play DDB and $0.25 Joker Poker Triple Play: ten $20 sessions each for $400 total.  I start with one hand, then 2 hands, then 3 hands, then back to 2, then back to 1.  I alternate each hand so I can try to make that $20 last longer than 10 seconds.. LOL  I ALWAYS cash out these sessions when I reach $30, not exactly a huge goal, but out of those 20 sessions, I usually have at least 5-10 cashout slips for various amounts.

2.) $0.25 FIVE-Play DDB and $0.25 FIVE-Play Joker Poker: 3 $40 sessions each for a total of $240.  Pretty much the same betting strategy for me here too.  I don't play 1 hand here though.  I alternate through 2-5 hands. (2 hands, 3 hands, 5 hands, 3 hands, 2 hands, etc..)  Cashout requirement in these sessions is $60.  Once again, starting with $40, nothing spectacular, but I still get a few cashouts, and if I can snag a good hand or multiplier with 5 hands, woo hoo! :)

3.) $0.50 Triple Play DDB and $0.50 Triple Play Joker Poker: two $40 sessions each for a total of $160.  I use the same strategy as I did in the $0.25 Triple Play.. (1-2-3-2-1 hands..)

Now once I am done with the last of my $800 bankroll, I will gather up all my cashout slips that I cashed out during all the sessions, put them all back into the machine (I don't want to take all those individual cashout slips to the bill breaker.. god those things are slllllooow!!)  and then hit cashout.  That is the money I go home with.. no ifs ands or buts!!  Because I have such low cashout requirements ($30 for $20 sessions and $60 for $40 sessions) I have yet to lose more than half my bankroll.  Lately, I have done very very well with it as you have seen in some of my posts.

I know that no gambling betting systems work, but the way I figure, I'm playing more hands than if I would use the max 3 or 5 hands in those games, thus giving me more opportunities to get that multiplier.

Oh, and I always take cashback home as profit and never spend it at the casino.

I sincerely apologize for the lengthy post and if any of it doesn't make sense.  I am very tired and probably should be getting some sleep.

No apologies Mike, I enjoyed it! You have great willpower to take home all the cashout slips! I usually proceed to give them back. I have thought about just doing 1 line 2 lines etc but have never tried it. I think I may next time. It will certainly stretch my budget. I used to play Jokers wild 1 line machines all the time. Its an exciting game but Ive found my bankroll dwindles even faster with that than DDB. Have you tried Deuces Wild? Ive done very well on that and you get to play a lot longer. I play 3 line DDB and 5 line DW. Ive played a few hands on 3 line Joker but never do well. Its also difficult to get both me AND my husband to be on a winning trip-usually one of us is carrying the other! I am hoping they have STP on the cruise but I really doubt it! So we did book a trip for the weekend after we get home at the Taj! LOL
Thanks for the post!
Barb
PS I did get dealt 4 deuces on 3line DW! Of course no multiplier-argggg!

The only thing that bothers me about playing the 1-2-3 hand and 2-3-5 hand is when the darn multiplier comes up when playing only 1 hand.  I had 3 aces dealt in DDB with a 4X multiplier once and was only playing one hand.    Didn't get my 4th ace of course, and was wishing I would have had a few more draws at it.

But it sure does seem to give me some lasting power versus just doing the max hands all the time.

As for DW, I never seem to do well at that game.  Plus I kinda like the thrill of DDB and Joker with the bigger mid-range payouts (different quad payouts on DDB and the str8 flush on Joker.)  I know that DW is a better game than both of them in terms of EV, so I may start to dabble some in DW.

An interesting note about DDB and Joker.. I have been playing both for awhile now.. and in the past few years I have hit 8 top jackpots on quarters, and 3 on 50-cents.. the score.. DDB = 0, Joker = 11.. LOL  Yep, I haven't hit one darn royal this year or last.  And I play 50% DDB and 50% Joker.  That seems kinda odd to me.  What makes me more mad about those royals is that I have hit probably 3 or 4 natural royals in Joker Poker in the last year.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...  In those jackpots, only ONE of them was I dealt 4 of a kind.   Another one I got a complete re-draw and all 5 came up on the draw.  The rest of them I was dealt 3 of a kind and snagged the other 2.

Boopsahoy,
By the way, I usually have my sessions either before work or after (depends on how awake I am.. LOL) but I usually play on Sundays unless there is a 2X or 3X cashback during the week.

Do either you or your husband play Hold'em?  I'm a dealer over at Showboat so if you're ever in the mood for a tournament or a nice little ring-game, we have a nice little room over there at Showboat.

I watch them play holdem on TV and I play a little (free) online but certainly not enough to play for real! Maybe next time we are around we will stop by Showboat! I too find I hit more natural Royals on Joker poker-I thinks thats cause u hold the cards for straight flushes much more in JP than DDB. I love the kickers in DDB too. My theory with the DW is when the DDB gets cold switch over and let the DDB RNG shuffle itself out of the cold spell! Then go back to it. And yes its really nice when you get dealt 3 Aces and you have 3 or 5 chances at it! Oh heres a frustrating moment--I got dealt a wild royal on dw 5 play (100 coins per line) and threw in the 1 deuce for a shot at the royal and didnt get 1!!! I guess thats why they call it gambling!!!

Boopsahoy,

I once got dealt a king high straight flush in DDB on triple play but I chickened out and kept the winner.  I know that basic strategy tells you to keep it, but normally I'm a gambling man.   I would have done the same thing in DW though.  I just can't throw a 250 credit winner away.  I'll definitely consider throwing one away that's 125 though

If you do stop by Showboat, they do have a pretty decent selection of video poker in the house of blues section.  The best would probably be the 9/6 jacks, but they do have some DDB with the same paytables as Taj.  And of course, they have (I think) 10 or so STP machines.

Question for you.. do you notice any differences in how you do with varying speeds on the draw?  I have no idea why, but I tend to get better draws on the slower speeds versus the high speed or turbo.  That sounds crazy because of the RNG, but it just seems to me that I tend to do better with the slower speed on STP.
