What do you think of this theory?

Why do you play video poker? What is your favorite game and why?

No need to be thin-skinned or make ad-hominem remarks.

You mean things like calling others "naive"?

I am quite informed. Civlized folks can agree-to-disagree and then go forward with a respectful discussion. This is a terrific website and I appreciate the wonderful insights. Just come down out of the ivory tower a bit.  GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU!

I don't see anything in your remarks that even hints of being informed. You have not researched the topic and just made off-the-cuff comments. That is fine but don't get defensive when you are corrected.

BTW, I have been extremely civil. It seems some people find the truth hard to accept.

Fair points.  I took "uneducated" and "uninformed" as ad hominem words utilized to squash discussion as opposed to embracing a discussion.  But, hey, I should lighten up as well.  However, with all due respect, I will stick with the word naive.  I am actually not just coming off the cuff and I do know of what I speak.  Dare I say, I might be just a tad more informed on the workings of the real world than perhaps you are? I love Vegas but everyone knows the gaming commission is joined at the hip with the gaming industry and there has been a plethora of shoddy oversight, scandals and cheating involving slots, vp, blackjack, computer chips etc. over the years. And let's be clear, it's not just Nevada.  I urge you to read up on machine inspection methods (for starters).  Anyhow, "truth" is subjective and you are not Socrates and if you want to believe all is pristine with the gambling industry in our country, that's fine. But please be careful if someone wants to sell you a bridge.

Again, thanks for the donnybrook and thanks for your insights. At this point, I will keep my powder dry for another day and I will give you the last word here.

GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!

Lots of claims there, Dyno, not one single example to back them up.

While I agree that the NGC tends to side with the casinos in most disputes, that really has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion of fair VP games. It's a red herring. Those disputes are usually about malfunctions, etc. Not only that, it has nothing to with VP machine manufacturers. You do realize the casinos don't program the machines, right?

As for being more informed about the "real world", please provide an example. Looks like another argument by assertion. The old ... I'm smarter than you because I said I am. Sorry, doesn't make it past the smell test. If you have something substantial to add feel free to let me know. Otherwise the people here can make their own minds up about who knows more about VP fairness.

As for accepting that "all is pristine with the gambling industry", what has that got to do with the discussion of VP machines? We are discussing one small part of the industry. At this point in time that particular subset of the industry appears to be on the up and up. Might that change in future? Of course, and we should always be vigilant, hence my reason for tracking my play. However, claiming that the industry is dishonest with zero facts to back it up ... well, I'd rather make my decisions based on facts. You can do whatever you want.

I have a theory that a certain nationwide sandwich chain uses their serving containers to drain the bathroom mop, and doesn't rinse them before restocking with condiments. Restaurants have a history of FDA violations, and clearly there is a profit motive (less equipment, less water use, etc). Sure, they make plenty of money by following the rules, but a little extra profit has driven companies to do things in the name of greed plenty of times. So not only do I go on various message boards to warn people about the urine and feces that I suspect is in the food at this chain, I eat there myself on a regular basis.

"Naive?!?" That is one thing I've never been referred to when it comes to almost anything. I research everything, especially things I enjoy, like video poker, very thoroughly. I'm with shadow on this. Where are the examples of the gaffed video poker machines and the corrupt, in-cahoots gaming regulators? Sounds like one of you-know-who's trolls may have been let out again.
