Re: The CS Mindset
I have now set up an envelope with a marker. It will contain morning session winnings and go in a checked bag not to be accessed during my stay. After a year of talking about this, time to finally take preventative measures. My trips have been in vain. Win at A, lose it all at B.

Thanks for posting your CS Strategies. I will be sure and pass it on... I might have to try this myself, sounds like just a good way to kill sometime at the bar having a few drinks with friends and not having to worry about making a few bad plays playing max bets all the time.

I developed CS to allow me to play a lot of video poker cheap while on our longer video poker vacations. I had no idea I would ever make a couple of bucks with it. You'll never get rich with CS, but you will save money over chasing royals on a negative game.

By all means let's keep the conversation alive. The more it stays relevant, the more likely we are to follow up and put the theory into practice. Forget chasing royals. Chasing quads is a bad enough bankroll drain. Fortunately, they do come a hundred times sooner on average.

Heading to Coushatta Casino in Kinder, LA for a 3 day trip over the Christmas Holiday. Meeting up with family and friends for some good times and a lot of VP play. I should be able to try out some CS strategy along with my regular play strategy... I will post my results on CS play when I get back.

Coushatta sounds like a nice quiet casino, where you can have some space to yourself and CS to your heart's content. You shouldn't lose your shirt.

Likewise to you and the Mrs. Good luck with your Christmas trip and hope you come back with more good stories to tell.

The Hollywood Hard Rock was great as usual. Played almost even with two nights comped plus free meals and drinks. If you ever get in the South Florida area, we highly recommend a visit. The DW odds are at least 2% better than the Beau Rivage in Biloxi and the beach is nicer.
One important CS strategy note that I forgot to mention earlier. If you are going to play CS, play it from the start. Don't make a big investment in max coins then switch to CS to save yourself from ruin. The whole idea of CS is to keep you from digging yourself into a financial hole to begin with. You are looking for heartbreak if you're down $600 and hit a royal flush for $62.50. When there is no pressure on you to get the big hit, you make better decisions. If things go well, you can always move up in denomination. It's nearly impossible to move down effectively after the damage has been done.
