Re: Royalless Streak Round Three
Another dud session last night. Luckily mostly bailed out by quad deuces again. Add 23,000 hands at 5 play spin poker on the same bonus deuces wild game. New Royalless total is 321,000 hands. Looks like I had better get ready for a scouting mission at Foxwoods to see where the best paytable machines are. As of 2 years ago, there weren't any. Many, many machines in the 95 percent range from what I remember. If I have to play those and I subtract the 2 percent royal penalty from Mohegan's 99 percent machines because I am not hitting any, that still leaves me with 97 percent machines. Foxwoods is a big place. I think I will head up there in the middle of the night soon, so I can check out all of the vp machines. That task alone could take several hours.

Olds, it will be well worth the effort. I am still shuddering from the melodrama involved in breaking even at Resorts. And of course, there's DB's futility there. By now, MS must be giving you the DTs! If you lose under $100 on a Foxwoods trip, you're still ahead of the game vs. MS. Start singing that old Foxwoods jingle from way back. Foxwoods sounds like Tropicana. Hell to navigate and tight machines.

The only thing keeping me going right now is hitting the quad deuces
about on schedule. Sometimes, I have to increase my bet though so when
they do hit, at least I will be even.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This has lately been my experience. I average about eighty cents a bet, but will get down $30 anyway. So, it's time to reluctantly suck it up and max bet for that $31 quad! Walk away fried and even. Cool off, repeat sisyphean task.

Well it is looking more and more like I will be abandoning my home base at Mohegan Sun. I pulled another marathon on Friday night. Kept it simple. Same quarter spin poker machine. Same game Bonus Deuces Wild. Played 5 lines with the only variation being the bet amount per line. This was another all nighter 12 hour battle. In 36,000 hands, I only had two chances at the Royal and both were in spades again. That in itself is weird. The quad deuces did hit, but not as often as they should have this time. I had a minimal loss overall only saved by one quad deuces hit, one quad deuces hit with the Ace, and one really nice dealt 5 Aces caught on all 5 lines and at the time I had a larger bet per line. That hand alone actually put me ahead for awhile, but that vanished and I ended up with a small loss hoping against hope that the Royalless streak would end. This puts me up to 357,000 hands without a Royal for this sequence test. It really does look like the 500k mark will be hit once again. Three of those in 3 years will be just too much to bear and if it happens, I will kiss my home base goodbye except for using up the remainder of my points and filling up the tank. I still need to do that scouting mission at Foxwoods. Maybe tomorrow night. Have to catch up on some rest first etc. etc.

Another frustrating trip for us, Olds. If I go over a mere 1,000 hands, I probably get slammed. Slice the Marathon in half and you likely leave a victor. Wonderful day for me on the boardwalk. A max coin Straight Flush came right when I desperately needed it. I had stubbornly burned through $62 in JOB winnings. I got the Get Out of Jail card preventing a complete fiasco. I was leaping like a Powerball winner.
Well it is looking more and more like I will be abandoning my home base at Mohegan Sun.
This sounds like a good plan to me. Sometimes you get into a rut at your regular casino. I got into one of these in Tampa the last 6 months where all I did was throw my money into the abyss. I moved to Hollywood and got lucky. Might work for you too.

Sounds tempting to me too. Move Theory should be a last resort. Caesars and Bally's have recently treated me well, my stubborn play on cold cycles notwithstanding. Will keep an open mind.

Back from which will probably be one of my last marathons at Mohegan Sun last night. Couldn't get a room either, but got one at 6 am this morning Even with all of my play this year and well over 350k cycled through so far this year, they wouldn't give me tickets for the Def Leopard concert last night. Oh well. Took some breaks, nice breakfast, etc. Playing time was just about eleven hours total between last night and early this morning. Add another 33k hands of play on the same machine without a royal. That puts me up to 390k now. Again I was up due to hitting quad deuces twice, again dealt 5 aces, and several dealt wild royals and dealt 5 of a kinds. Gave it back, but at least ended up even. Same mode of play. I did see two patrons hit royals less than ten feet away. One was on dollars for over 4k on the of the new gimmick vp games. I forget which one since I pay no attention to any of them. Probably either Barnyard or the one with the wheel as part of the vp game. One final note. Again the quad deuces hit much less than they should have. I had 2 and I should have had 5 or 6 at least. The dealt stuff bailed me out though since I caught the other good hands on all 5 lines. I'm actually thinking about taking a break from vp and after a few months of saving, picking up a replica Cobra. I helped my buddy build his. Too old now to do that again, but there are quite a few nice turn key ones out there. The real ones can go for 1m or more.

At last the Sun has set for Olds. Another bleary eyed marathon in the books, staggering out Even Steven. The Royals are out there. Maybe not on your games, but they exist. At MS as you witnessed, and certainly down the shore. I was exhausted after three hours of single line play on Sunday. I wouldn't know how to cope with being down or even in hour four, much less the eleventh hour. Of course I get the usual annoying chatty regulars at peak weekend hours and have to ride them out. I'm getting tired of that crew, believe me. Hoping that a machine next to me goes out of service at some point to get some respite.
