This is because you continue to play the games that you play instead of the ones we play. You choose to do this, and as long as you're fine with spending money on it, more power to you.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 3:54 amMath says I am going to lose long term and that has proven to be true.

I didnt know perfect strategy for many of the ult x games when picking off plays, but with the large advantages, you don't need to play perfectly. Speed is more important. I laugh when I see others that do this and waste time pulling out a strategy sheet.

Here's what I would like to see. I would like to see someone write a book about playing video poker in the casinos where I play. The book would explain that better odds let you play more hands with your money, they don't guarantee profits. It would say there is a cost to be entertained, but you can control that cost. It would talk about comps as an added benefit instead of a way to make the game profitable.
The book should explain why coin-in is the overriding factor in the cost of playing negative games. The book would state clearly that there is a chance a positive game will produce a profit and an even greater chance a negative game will produce a loss. The book would state outright that beating the casino is an extreme long shot. Not because of any lack of skill or intelligence, but because the games are designed that way.
This book will never be written. The industry loves the books we have. It fills their casinos with hopeful players who continue to feed the machines because they believe there is a strategy that will make them a winner. These players justify their losses by inflating the value of their comps. They remember the winning days and forget the more frequent losers. The casino knows players tune out the words "Don't play negative games" and hear the words "I live a great lifestyle by playing VP".
Would anyone buy a book like that? No way. Gamblers don't want to read about losing less, they want to read about winning more. Gamblers never get enough winning. Writing this book is a waste of time. When all video poker games are 90%, there will be players who will still believe they can profit and authors to tell them how to do it.
Since I have been on this forum I have been an advocate of playing video poker as entertainment. I advise players to only gamble with money they can afford to throw away. I tell them playing negative games smaller is cheaper. I believe these things have more value to more players than telling them how to beat the casino.

Would everyone who brags about living a great lifestyle by playing VP please stop?
It's so repetitious every morning waking up to see yet another thread on someone making a fortune playing VP.
Two or three such threads a month would seem sufficient.

Yeah, usually a card to salvage, whetting your appetite for at least a push.

So can we safely put this nonsense away and everyone agree to table this until someone actually makes such a claim?

Oh, probably not. There possibly could be some waffling, but the beat will go on.
