Shadowman,     And therein lies the problem.....if you say it is impossible for us to predict random events....would this qualify as negative thinking?~Benford's Law

When certain v.p. seesions are bad, and I mean really bad, doesn't it seem that the players are trying to hit a moving target? By the way, that's when it makes sense to get up change machines or take a potty break!!!

Chuck,     Yes, your sessions can experience some wild turnarounds after a break.  Check out my post from earlier in this thread.       In a sense, all video poker sessions (from spectacular multi-royal ones to horrible ones where one cannot find a quad for more than 4-5 hours) involve trying to hit a "moving target", of sorts.   Those video poker computers are cranking out fresh and diverse cards constantly whether we see it or not.  To me, a bad session is trying to hit a moving target and making a whole lot of misses!       The good thing about this game, at least, is that most reasonably serious players bring a lot of ammunition (bankroll) to "shoot" at a game that only requires one really good or a few decent hits for a good session.       Good luck!       ~Benford's Law

I'm positive it would not be negative.

I'm positively convinced that remaining negatively committed to a positive outcome will result in a negatively attracted positive outcome......I think I'm positively correct on that negative assertion?????????????

My 3rd cousin Linville used to say just about the same thang. He is one smart guy and happy as a humming bird.

But, If you could "predict it", it would not be random.

Just went through 3,200 credits without a 4-of-a-kind on my Memorial weekend casino trip.Really, really bad.  Probably the worst I've ever seen.  Even a huge, multi-level denomination progression system would have been exhausted by that one.Sessions like these always leave me thinking,  "What in the hell's wrong with me today?"~Benford's Law

Yucko, that is 8-9 cycles. I've been in a real natural 4K drought lately myself but fortunately I've been playing OEJs. I've seen quad aces only once this month in around 30K hands. Same for deuces. I probably would have seen a few more without holding wild cards but not that many.

You're right about the progression. I suspect you may have eaten through two of them with a drought like that.
