Re: Learning When to Walk Away
FAA, I often find your posts a little confusing, because you do not clearly differentiate between your comments and those in the post you are commenting on.

FAA shares opinion quite often so its best to instruct how to quote people rather than copying and pasting (which is part of the process)
1. Square bracket QUOTE=Username
2. Copy and paste the quote
3. Square bracket /QUOTE (has a forward slash in front]
I purposely spelled QUOTE wrong so it does not recognize the forum post as a quote
[QxUOTE=onemoretry] copy and paste the person's comment here [/QxUOTE]
remember to remove the lowercase x on QxUOTE

Thank you alpax. Quote boxes definitely help. And the quote button in the top right corner will automatically form the quote boxes for the post you click on.
I still have the tendency to burst into dollar machine territory when I'm a quarter player
Part of the Cheap Strategy is to move to single coin dollar play when the counter reaches $25. I make most of my big wins that way. The Cheap strategy does two things, it lets you play longer with the same money and it allows you to play above your bankroll without cleaning you out. This strategy works well if you have patience and can get past the idea that a single coin quad deuce or royal flush is a bad thing. When you get one at max coin dollars, it makes up for all the small disappointments along the way and works much better than chasing royals flushes with max coins forever.

Onemoretry and Alpax, I prefer cut and paste to grab maybe half of a poster's quote, the crux I want to elaborate on. Quote box users usually grab the whole hog. I just want a few strips of bacon.

Phil, I'm definitely a believer in cheaping out. Even though I would have lost a grand had I adhered to that six months ago. The goal is to stay longer at the rodeo. While quarter betting, I run the gamut during the session with no concrete plan. But I usually do all right. An hour of dollar min betting is much more problematic. I was down $83 and in panic mode bet $3 for my biggest quad return ever, $75. While I took a bathroom break, someone played $20 and left. I had a "premonition" I suppose and resumed. First hand, $25 quad. I subsequently lost all of this at my formerly secondary casino with yet more min betting. People on either side of me did win big. But I simply won't risk the necessary bankroll for dollar min. It's just not conducive to sustainable play.

Once you bring up the quote box, you can edit the content down to the few strips of bacon.

I am a big fan of the internet sensation, the little pig born without hind legs who now uses a contrived "wheelchair" to get around in his owner's home: Name of this pig?Chris P. Bacon! look him upNow back to our regular scheduled pork - n - Beanz festival

Only thing worse than losing is being sandwiched by winners during the shakedown. That was absolute hell. Shudder.
