LOL Mike! I was thinking the same thing why didnt that happen with quarters! Ive never seen nickels STP at Taj! That would be the only way I would play 10 play! Unfiortunately we are very lazy and we rarely leave the Taj except to go to Resorts! Ive never even been to the new shops! We always say we will but never seem to be able to leave the machines.We only get up to eat when I am ready to faint!!!!! Smart of you to hold on to their money as long as possible! Ill give a quick report when we get home!

Those shops at Trop are something else! Some of the shops are a bit on the pricey side, but they also have a few shops that are fairly inexpensive. The restaurants are some of the best in AC as well. I recommend Carmine's for a good Italian mean. A tip though, order only 1 meal for 2 people.. the meals are so big that they are meant to me shared. Heck, the salad that they serve comes out on a dish as big as a turkey platter... LOL
I was hoping that you had spotted some nickel STP at Taj. I have been looking and looking for them, but never saw them. Are those DDB's in the non-smoking section new? (The nickel 5-hand DDB progressives.) I seem to remember them being nickel joker-poker progressives in the past..

Mike-I will keep my eye out for nickel STP for you this weekend. I didnt see those DDB nickel machines-I have been rooted to the STP,I have to do some walking around this weekend. Its just hard cause you know once you get up from an STP your seat is gone!I have eaten at Carmines in Manhattan and its all you made it out to be-yum! and large servings for sure! The lemon chicken and penne with vodka sauce rocked! Well I have good intentions for this weekend but we will see what REALLY happens! LOL

Still didnt see any nickel STP at the Taj. I looked for the DDB nickel 5play machines and didnt see them-doesnt mean they arent there! This woman I play with thats also an STP nut said there is a lone one near the poker tables alongside some dollar STP (yeh right, dollar!) We got killed Saturday, no really good hands. ALtho around 8PM with $100 left we played for around 2 1/2 hrs on the STP DW 5 play. We lost it all but we played. Today my hubby got a Royal, and 3 sets of 4 deuces on DW, and i got 4 aces with the multiplier. I had the 4X multiplier on 3 Play JW and got dealt joker 10s Js Qs -but didnt get one hit-arggggg. So we got back todays stake and some of yesterdays losses. We saw someone playing Multistrike get 5 of a kind on jokers wild on the top level for $8000 and my gal pal saw someone win $32000!!Im not sure what they were dealt. Thats my dream! LOL

Kinda figured that Taj was void of nickel STP's The nickel DDB's are located close to the Boardwalk entrance in the non-smoking area. There are some progressive jeopardy machines right next to them. I think there's like 8 or so machines.. 5 hand DDB's with the progressive starting out at $4000 for a dealt royal. The paytables are the same, so they're pretty decent machines.
That lone STP you were talking about by the poker room.. what denom is that one? Is that also a $1 denom?
At least you had a good day Sunday to make up for Saturday's losses. It's always a good feeling to win back some of those bad sessions!
And wow, those are some pretty darn good hits on Multistrike!! I wish I could hit $100, let alone $8000 or $32000.. LOL I never seem to do well on those..
By the way, do you check your Taj comp account online? I checked mine today and I thought there was a glitch on the site because of all the bonus cash offered.. but in March, there are about 10 different days where bonus cash is offered. They are all $15 and require 30 min of play to cash it out, but $15 is $15.. LOL I'm thinking of bringing a watch with me all 10 days, stick a $20 in nickel DDB and time myself to play 30 minutes, then cash out whatever I have left. I'll at least get 30 minutes of play out of that $20 (at least I should...) so I should walk away a winner each time. Not exactly looking to make a lot out of it, but since I work right next door at Showboat, it would be easy for me to take an extra 30 minutes of my time to make a few extra bucks.

Wow, cool! Glad to know that there is another STP machine to check out if the others are busy, but by the way it sounds, that one is just as busy.. LOL
I was shocked to see all the bonus cash days. Any particular reason why they have so many all in March? I thought it might have been exclusive to people who played a lot, but my fiance checked her account last night, and she also has just as much bonus cash as me. She plays maybe 3 or 4 times per year. I have $76 in regular cashback, which I'll probably use as my "starter" funds to get all that cash!
Yeah, it's a great set-up that I have working next door, and the best part is that we have a wardrobe area in Showboat where we can bring in our own clothes, leave the work clothes in a locker, and just come back later for them. A lot of casinos don't have that down here from what I have heard. Plus, since I work 7PM-3AM (possibly changing to 2PM-10PM in the near future to coincide with my fiance's schedule a little better..) the casino is ALWAYS dead after work and I can have my pick of pretty much any machine. I just have to deal with all the weird people, you know, the drunks, the extremely strange, the people begging for money, the ladies of the night.. LOL It's certainly a different world going into those casinos that late.
I agree with your last statement full-heartedly, too! You can go through a ton of cash if you're not hitting the multiplier, or if you are hitting it, you're getting dealt crap like 2H, 4C, 6D, 8S, 10H when you get the multiplier.. Nothing burns me more than getting a good multiplier of 8 or 10 and getting dealt (and drawn) absolutely nothing..

Mike-sometimes I think the multiplier "knows" when you are getting a bad hand! Usually the hand after the hand with the multiplier is a good one and that burns me up! Just getting 4OAK's is not enough to keep you going unfortunately--Heres a really crazy one-I got dealt 4 natural 7s on 5 Play DW!!! Now why couldnt that have been DDB?? And then when I pulled the 5th card I didnt get even one 1 5 of a kind!!!!! The set up you have at work sounds great! I havent played that late at night -or should I say early in the AM -in a long time. We like to start out early like 8 or 9 AM --the earlier the better to score good seats-and theres nothing like that first coffee (and cig dare I say) with a fresh $20 going into your first machine of the day! Oh and I think it would be beneficial to get your schedule closer to your fiances! LOL I can see no rhyme or reason why they have so much bonus cash that month unless its usually a slow month-also lately they have been having a lot of the bonus cash during the week when not as many people-except for you!-can take advantage of it!

Yep, that multiplier always seems to have a mind of its own! I've had that happen to me too. The switching of games and getting the quad hand happens to me quite a bit. I play DDB for awhile... no quads.. I switch to Joker Poker and within a short period of time, I get bunches of natural quads. Don't do what I did one time though.. I was doing my usual routine, sessions of DDB and Joker Poker (switching back and forth all night long) and I got dealt 4 aces with a 3 on Joker Poker 3-Play. I was so darn excited I held them all and didn't realize what I did until I saw the 4oak payouts of 80 each. I was sooooooooo ticked! LOL Not only did I NOT get that in DDB, but I actually got dealt 4oak in Joker Poker with 3 missed opportunities to get that Joker for the jackpot! After that, I always made sure to double check which game I was playing..
Anyway, that used to be my favorite part of the trip to the casinos when we lived back in central PA... the first $20 bill in the machine first thing in the morning and the 1st sip of that casino coffee! We only got to go about twice per year back then. So, I definitely know how you feel about the early morning start!
I'm glad that Taj actually still gives me good offers since I moved close to AC, because Tropicana has offered me virtually nothing since we moved here. We used to get tournaments, bonus cash, free rooms, etc.. but I think once we moved, they thought we didn't need free rooms and all that stuff to bring us in. Oh well, they lost most of our business to the Taj (besides the shops and restaurants and that way cool nickel STP machine! LOL)

Mike I know what you mean about switching games! I thought it was just me. I switch from DDB to DW--I realized I was playing DDB and throwing out hands I would have definitely kept if Id have known! Or the time I was so excited to get a wild royal on DW dealt to me I held it instead of throwing away the 1 deuce and having 5 shots at a natural royal!ARGG I always look over at my husband to see if he caught it cause hes always saying I am too fast! i really dont want to wait till Pres weekend after all this STP talk-maybe I can squeeze in a quick trip the weekend before HMMMMMM Do you feel tempted to gamble all the time since youre in a casino all day?
