DDB vs. Deuces Wild

The lighter side... playing for entertainment, less concerned about "the math."

25 or 6-2-4, Olds have a great time at the concert.

Love that song. Used to play it in a hack band we had up at UCONN. Never could play the lead guitar like Chicago does, but had fun. Concert great....thanks. Go CUBS...I hope Ernie Banks is watching from above and sends down some of his slugging talents for the series.

If only those sessions and DW wild streaks dealing you 2 deuces or even 3 would happen at the beginning of a session....almost always near the end, but at least they let you play catch up if you play them right.

I would love to know how many DW streaks actually produce quad deuces.  I suspect they're not any more frequent, we just remember when it happens. Anyway, quad deuces are always welcome.  My wife puts them on her phone.  She has a Samsung Galaxy 7 but it hasn't caught fire.......yet.

I went on the charter flight special to Beau Rivage and they did not charge any fees other than room service tax. I wonder if that's the norm for the charter trips.

Ack, make sure she gets a new phone before the next trip to Vegas! That screw up is a shame though. We both really like our older galaxies. I don't have plans of going to a different android phone when I get a newer one, well, unless they screw up again...

The Hollywood Hard Rock does not charge room taxes or any other fees on a comped room.  You check in, you check out and you owe nothing.   We both play single line max coin quarters all day at about 600-800 hands an hour.  We have no problem paying for a $20 breakfast, a $35 dinner and drinks from our comps.   The Hard Rock DW quarter odds are 98.9%.  The Beau Rivage odds are 95.9%.  Florida does not tax hand payed gambling winnings.  Mississippi takes 3% off the top.   Those free flights to the Beau Rivage are not free.We totally enjoyed the Beau Rivage as a hotel and Mississippi is always fun.  Unfortunately, they are not keeping up with the competition.  As long as there are people who will play any machine with any odds, they'll be fine.  I'm pretty sure a couple of quarter VP players are not going to affect them much.

Will have a fistful of twenties ready for the FP Run Up strategy. Looks like fun and will only cost me a hundred if it's an absolute flameout!

Run ups have a bad habit of turning bad.  If you get caught up in the moment, you could go through that $100 pretty quick. Remember, this strategy is meant as entertainment only.  It's not based on anything other than pure luck.  However, the odds of hitting a royal or a quad deuce are always the same no matter how many hands you play.  Good Luck!

Phil - Everyone I talked to on the charter lost but I was very lucky on their video poker & slots and ended up with over a $7,000 profit. (Once I found the machines with good pay tables). Before that I lost my entire bankroll which wasn't much then ended up winning on my Freeplay. It was a great trip - I loved the hotel and would like to go again but think the wins were most likely a fluke.

I had my biggest VP day ever in Biloxi back in 2008.  I was a dollar player back then and hit 3 dollar royals for $12,000 and one quarter for $1,000 in one 24 hour period.  It was truly amazing how fast those bad odds took all the money back.   I'm smarter now.  I don't play video poker unless the odds are at least 98% and 99% of my play is with quarters.  1-2% for the house is fine with me.  4-5% is shaking you down in my opinion.  As casinos continue to reduce the odds and add on fees like parking and room taxes, we should consider if we want to play their games at all.   Playing only where the odds are decent and holding our bets to quarters is one way to counter these issues.  I played mostly single coin quarter CS for two years straight and did just fine.  I played more hands than I ever did and made a small profit over the same period.  If I can't find playable games, I'll go back to it in a heartbeat.
