weekend wonders???

Post by rfonlymama »

I'm always anxiuos to hear how everyone did over the weekend.  Wilcox and the Reno trip sounded successful...how did everyone else do?
Here in Iowa I did recover from losing my backside last weekend.  No royals but 4 deuces on DW STP and then the same hand with a 5 x's for $1250.  Enough to move up to fifty centers and hit four deuces again for $500 and one dealt four of a kind (unfortunately only on quarters and no multiplier)!!   Started out a slow day for the first two hours but the next two hours put me ahead for both weeks.  Yippee.
I think I'll head to Dubuque this weekend...better pay table.

What other W-G's were out there?   I'm always amazed by you that play 100 play....any denomination over a penny on that machine would scare me

Congratulations on your nice trip!  I went up with a friend to one of the local places yesterday, and won't even use words to describe the outcome:

My friend was dealt quad 6's on STP 5-play with a 5 multiplier, though.

Mon evening 1700 hrs now. Just returned from Laughlin,Nv. on a spur of the moment weekend trip. I had no money or intentions of gaming this month but a close friend got his Federal return and wanted out of town so off we went. He gave me $200 to paly for two days and used my comp room there plus 2-for-1 buffet coupons. I easily managed to use the 2 bills in 2 days but came home ahead plus 1 bill so 3 benjies now! He hit a quarter royal on FPDW(no deuces) and two nickel royals for $1,400 but came home with $100 in his wallet so I gave him 1 bill and we balanced out to where we began except it was actually his money I played on. Yes he lost his initial $200 plus $1300 of 1400 royal winnings. Mine came on a nickel royal and a Spin Poker pennies royal,9/5 DDB@ 45 cents a spin, dealt 4RF hearts with a club 10, dumped the club and drew the heart 10 for a $220.00 payout on a penny machine. There was a nickel 10/8/6/3/1/1 Aces bonus machine there!

Congratulations, Ed.  I hope your benjies continue to have babies.

Heres how my weekend went. I've got my butt kicked the last three trips so I thought I was due saturday night. It just so happened they were having a drawing for a new truck that night. I got there around 8:00 P.M. got my tickets from the service desk and waited in line to throw them in the barrel. I have never in all my years of going to casinos seen such a huge crowd. Since the drawing wasn't until 10:00 my wife and I started playing ( she's not much of a player). I got tore up pretty bad playing DDB but a few minutes before 10:00 I hit quads back to back to put a little back in my pocket. Finally it was time for the drawing after a 15 minute delay because there were still so many people trying to get thier tickets in the barrel. They were going to draw 10 names and each person would be allowed to pick an envelope from a basket that contained a key. My name was the third name called out so I fought threw the crowd to claim my spot. We were all led to the area where the truck was located and each of us were told to draw an envelope from the basket. The envelopes were numbered and I wanted #7 but drew #5. The first four stuck the key in the door unsuccessfull so I had a chance. I stuck my key in the door and it didn't work. Number 6 key either but of corse #7 did. What a surprise #7 at a casino, I knew it all along. At least I got $250 for having my name drew.

Wow!  I've never, ever, come that close to winning something like that.  If they called my name as a finalist I think that I'd need to change my shorts.

that was a nice weekend Cat!
pokeherguy...how exciting to even have your name drawn...congrats!  Half the time I don't even bother to get the tickets for the drawings because 1) it takes the machine about an hour to spit out a hundred tickets or so and 2) the odds just seem so huge with all the tickets in the barrel.  Pretty funny to even make a statement like that when you look at the odds of a royal flush!

Pokeherguy, my luck is that I would put in the key and the key would break from my hand shaking!
Shadow, missing deuces from DDB or FPDW? Still quite a few machines with coin acceptors there. No surprise to me why the older crowd enjoys Laughlin including myself. Less crowd and more old-timey LV feel to it. That Aces bonus machine was stingy but probably evened out over the course of a day. 10/8/6/3/1/1 125 5-k's,200 2-4's, 400 4 aces, sequential aces with the letters spelling a-c-e-s paid the same as a royal and of course, SF paid 250. No loose deuces or OEJ's there or maybe one machine in the whole city but none of the tech people knew of them anywhere.

My husband and I had quite a bit of luck this week end at the Horseshoe in Bossier City, LA.  Saturday playing double bonus deluxe he hit a royal holding KdJd.  Playing the triple machine.  Same machine, same game.  Sunday hit another royal holding JhGh.  Later on a bank of triple machines, I managed to hit 4 3s and 4 2s with kickers playing Trible Db. Then 4 aces with kicker.  Total shock.  Had not hit much there for quite some time.
After taxes we made it home with 4000.  Nice trip.
