This is impossible right?
From a TA post about a recent trip to the Borgata in AC:"One thing I noticed that was pissing me off, was quite a few times (on
different machines) I would get the exact same card back that I had
discarded (playing VP). This happened numerous times when I would be
holding 4 cards…."

Yes, if this happens a person should call over a tech immediately to verify the problem and then they should demand any money lost on the machine is refunded.

Hold up...can you be more specific? Are you getting the same "value" card back on the draw when you hold 4 cards off the deal (such as a 3 of diamonds replacing a 3 of spades), or are you getting the same exact card back (discarding a 3 of diamonds and re-drawing a 3 of diamonds)?
If the latter is happening, shadow is correct, you should call a slot tech over immediately and have the previous dealt and drawn hands reviewed. The machine has a memory that will show this info. If the same "exact" card is drawn as was dealt after discarding, the machine has malfunctioned and you're entitled to all your loses back on the machine.
However, if you're just receiving a same "value" card as in the former example, you're entitled to boohickey. Just bad luck, ask for a tissue and a phone call from robbiesinger for a shoulder to cry on as he gives you a 4 hour disertation about same card flipovers occurring 60% of the time when 4 cards are held.
Just joking on the last paragraph. Good luck!

The quote from the original poster states: One thing I noticed that was pissing me off, was quite a few times (on
different machines) I would get the exact same card back that I had
discarded (playing VP). This happened numerous times when I would be
holding 4 cards….Now if this is the case and she states it happened on different machines, is this a malfunction or something else. She emphatically states it was the exact same card.

It's from trip advisor. I would guess she is forgetting the suit she is throwing away before thinking the machine was in error. If it is in error, it definitely should be brought up immediately. But if this was actually happening, it probably would have been brought up already.

many times it seems like your getting the same card, especially if your playing long hours - or fast. 3 of diamonds, 3 of hearts for example - plays tricks on your eyes...
