what do we want from casinos

Post by notes1 »

do not know if it is true, but have heard that some casino executives will read some of the topics on forums, such as this.  what if we listed what each of us really want or are willing to give up. free booze? free rooms? free meals? would we be willing to give up any of these or pay a little for them to see better paytables? maybe, paytables are not important to some, and would rather have the other perks. i think we need to be resonable with our requests.  what do you think....

Non-smoking VP areas with the same variety of games as the rest of the casino.

I also wish there was no smoking. But it may be just me, the non-smoking areas usually have the non appealing slots and the smoke from the majority of the casino propagates to the non-smoking area.

As players, I always welcome more offers (actual gifts as opposed to contests/drawings) if the video paytable has to remain stagnant. But realistically, on areas where there is a high demand of players (unfortunately I live in one and there is no sign of shortage anytime soon), they do not need to change anything.

As for the original post, casinos WANT TO offer free booze to its players, but IS UNABLE TO due to state alcohol regulations. Reason I have those parts in caps is that casino operators really highly think of that matter to attract more players.

More slant tops, rather than uprights. Much easier on the back. Or at least adjustable chairs that you can move back and forth. Oh, and better paytables.

if i recall correctly, many casinos had made a commitment to reduce smoking, pre the economic collapse. when the econmy sank and the number of gamblers also fell, they likely felt thet could not afford to lose any potential gamblers. i also believe i have read that there is a correlation between gamblers and those who smoke and/or drink. do not quote me, but i think it is true. none the less, seems like a reasonable request to have more non smoking areas.  agree with the slant tops over upright, my back always ends up hurting. i will not play anywhere, with locked in chairs. i understand the casinos want folks to drink booze.  as far as any free stuff, i would take free play over anything else offered.  lots of good ideas, keep them coming, just maybe they will hear what we are asking for.

The problem we have in Florida is that smoking is banned almost everywhere except in a casino.  It's such a novelty to be able to smoke in public that the few smokers left alive go on tilt and smoke like there's no tomorrow.  It does seem to me that smokers are becoming more courteous and/or the ventilation is getting better.  I'm not sure there is a correlation between gambling, smoking and drinking. It's one thing to have a death wish and something else entirely to enjoy giving your money away.

Illinois passed a no smoking in public places law 3 or 4 years ago and the casino lobbying gang tried to get casinos exempted from the law; they didn't succeed.
