Two more good machines... Hallelujah!

Post by FloridaPhil »

Took my weekly trip to the Tampa Hard Rock yesterday.  I walked over to my two secret machines with the good quarter pay schedule and "Son of a Gun" if they didn't put in two more just like it.  I think they're Bally Multigame machines.  They have blue screens and look different than the common Game King machines.   I have noticed the Florida Hard Rocks are sneaking in a few better paying low denomination machines lately.  The State's deal with the tribes is up soon.  I wonder if they are getting ready for some competition? This is good for business as most players don't care, but knowledgeable players really do.  Makes everyone happy.

Better paytables is always a good thing unless they have class II machines which would make them kinda pointless. I understand they're class III so go get em Phil.

They're Class III. The Hard Rock threw out all the old Class II video poker machines a few years ago. I'm just happy they decided to give us quarter players a break.   Pretty decent odds for Florida.  I'm encouraged...

good to hear such news!

Who will be the new competition once the deal is up? Will the deal be extended? The only reason most states would support a casino is to receive revenue in return.

What are the paytables for the other games on the Bally machines? Most people focus on the denomination quarters vs dollars more than the pay table itself based on what I see.

The $1 35-8-5 Bonus Poker game is a better game to play in the long run than 25 cent 25-12-9 Bally's Deuces or 50 cent Airport Deuces.

The State cut a five year deal with the tribes and that's almost up. This allowed them to have a monopoly on table games and a no new casino pledge for a cut in the revenue.  Some of the counties in Florida have voted to allow gambling, so the whole thing is now open for renegotiation.  A developer wants to build a huge casino resort complex in Miami and I've heard rumors that Daytona might have a casino.  We should know more this summer. Florida does not need to build casinos all over the place.  Too many is not a good thing.  We need the casinos we have to stay profitable.

The only good quarter pay schedule machines at my place are in the smoking section and right in front of the cocktail waitress exit doorway. Pure misery.
