Who has hit a Royal in the first 5 minutes of play
I'm sure everyone who has hit one on a single line game in just the first few hands or in about 5 minutes of play will remember. This only happened to us once about 8 years ago in Aruba. We had just checked in at the hotel and the Mrs. was busy reading brochures in the lobby. I told her I would be back in ten minutes and of course headed for the casino which was attached to the lobby. In just a few hands on a nickel Deuces Wild game, I hit a Royal for 200 bucks. I figure the probability of this happening to players at about a thousand to one based on playing 40 hands or so in five minutes time. That is the only time we hit one like that. I wonder if anyone ever had a dealt one in that 5 minute time frame too.

Two years ago. I had a dealt Royal on a $2 progressive Double Deuces game (so, max bet is $10). This was on my first spin. Given the fact that a dealt Royal's odds are about 1 in 649,000, and coupled with the fact that it was my first spin on that machine, I think I have maxed out my luck!
The progressive was high, around $12,800

On a trip to mesquite, NV with my wife at Casablanca, was playing a progressive bank of 10 coin .5c ugly deuces while my wife was heading down to eat dinner. Not more than 5 minutes later, hit it for 400 and change and paid for our entire weekend trip. Was cool and wish it happened more often
Cheers

We vacation in Colorado each spring and last May we checked into the Ameristar in Black Hawk. We were both anxious to get on the machines because the odds are so much better in Colorado than we have in Florida and we wanted to play max coins while there. We walked across the street to the Canyon Casino and sat down to play. We were both playing deuces and I started with quarters. My first twenty ran up to $40 and I switched to .50. About 4-5 hands in I heard some music that sounded vaguely familiar. I looked around and then realized I had hit a $2,000 royal hand pay. What a great way to start a vacation! Nice memory...

I knew you guys and gals would remember those good trips. Keep em coming. This is very uplifting if not therapeutic. . It is almost like reliving going parking for the first time with your girlfriend. Well, er uh, not exactly, but you know what I mean.

I remember the opposite. It was at the Gold Coast in Vegas. I was down to 1.25 left from my 20 dollar bill. I was going to quit for the day. So I took my last spin and was dealt just 2 to the royal. Held the 2 and drew the other 3 to complete the royal. Talk about timing!!

If this website counts (non-wager), one day I played the Game King single line (non-contest), the second hand I got 3 to a royal and got the other 2 cards.

Several times, but the most memorable was walking into the Harrah's LV high limit room to thank our host for the little jet plane ride from Mesa Gateway. Slipped a hundy into a $5 game and told her that's all the "high rolling" I'd be doing this trip. Hit the deal and was dealt 3 to Royal. Held those and drew the rest of the family. That weekend turned out to be a $50K winner for us after Aces w/kicker, and 3's w/kicker on TDB at Palace Station.

Sounds good to me Phil. Though we will always be 7 or 8 years behind you and yours....43 and counting for us. Now if only vp would be nice more than once in awhile....Hmmmmm...Edited to add, I really like these stories that are coming in. Just goes to show that in vp, " anything can and will happen ".
