I got the same one. Plus 9000 RC's, $90 FP, Free room, And 5 entries into the Experience the Empire Event.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Wow. You really must have lost the farm! I'll never rack up that incentive package. I should decline too. Who the hell wants to put this much at risk again?! Then they will ding me on future comps anyway. "Chance to go home a winner" indeed!

I'm not doing that well with DW.  I need a royal to get back even.  The
Ameristar has 9/6 jacks.  I'm switching over to JB hoping to get out
with something left in my pockets.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I knew you'd see the light. Black Hawk Down! Can he soar in Mile High on JOB patrol? Stay tuned, ladies and gents!

No matter what they offer you will spend at least as much and more. Even if you end up ahead you spent more before you got there. Unless you are fortunate enough to hit big and early or better yet just before you leave. If you just grab the comps and run you probably won't get the same offers next time so you have to play enough to maintain future offer levels. I go when I have the BR to play. I take the family along, usually 4 of us. We stay for free, Free Valet, eat for free with my comps and RC's, they get to do their thing and I do mine. It is a good value to me and worth the price of admission unless I get clobbered at the machines and go on full tilt.

And to tie this back to the OP's topic. Going full tilt is my biggest VP mistake probably.

Jumping around denominations was the fatal strategy for two straight weeks. Obviously that crazy leap needs to be eliminated. I've hit big early on both RFs. Hazy memories now.

Stay tuned, ladies and gents![/quote]Yes he can!  Two royals on this trip so far.  Dealt 4, hit the 5th card on the draw.  After that couldn't resist switching to dollar BP. Hit four 4s and 4Aces within 30 minutes. We're snowed in until Monday morning.   Must last until then.  Jacks and BP is the plan.

Congratulations. I will lay low and sit extremely tight on all future quarter sessions. Just a steady low key attack.

How can this be? When I warned you to be careful of the weather you insisted I was wrong. What happened to those cameras that proved I didn't know what I was talking about? Guess all the snow didnt end up in Vegas, after all.

Fearless Phil. Often mistaken, but never in doubt.

There are two areas to Black Hawk, Blackhawk itself and Central City. We  stay at the Ameristar and love it.  They probably have more different kinds of VP than anywhere outside of Vegas or Reno.  You can easily walk from the Ameristar to the others. You will need a car to go to Central City.  There is plenty in Black Hawk to keep you busy all day.  Like everywhere you have to scout the odds.  I find VPFree2.com very unreliable.  The Ameristar has 9/6 Jacks in quarters and up, 9/6 DDB, 98.9% DW and a lot more games I do not play.  None of these is mentioned on VPFree2.com.  I have been playing a 98.9% DW Triple play machine.  This is a real treat for me as Florida casinos cut the odds for triple play.  The Lodge and the Monarch are within walking distance.  Both have good VP. The prices are reasonable if you are flexible.  We stay at the Ameristar a week a year and the rooms during the week are around $100.  This year they comped our rooms which was nice.  They have lots inexpensive places to eat.  Denver is a young town, so they keep prices low.   The scenery in the Rockies is spectacular.  The altitude bothers me for the first day, then I'm fine. This is one of the best VP vacation areas in the Country.  All casinos in Colorado are none smoking.  The players here are much classier than what you find in Vegas.  No strip clubs, sleazy guys with cigars or big shots with limos.  It seems very family friendly.  I recommend it.

We left Nevada heading back to Black Hawk early.  There are storms heading our way, so we will probably be marooned in Black Hawk for three days.  I'm not doing that well with DW.  I need a royal to get back even.  The Ameristar has 9/6 jacks.  I'm switching over to JB hoping to get out with something left in my pockets.  My wife is on a lucky streak.  She hit a royal yesterday and absolutely crushed a slot.   One thing I have learned is how inaccurate VPfree2.com is.  I'll do a complete report when we get back.

I enjoyed hearing this report about Black Hawk despite    your troubles with the weather that BR warned you about.

A place with cleaner air, smoke free casinos, and inexpensive dining seems to be a place where I want to be.

As some people stated in the past, VPfree only shows what is reported by players voluntarily. With those kind of games (e.g. 9/6 DDB and JoB) offered at Black Hawk, there is a chance that the players in that region wish to keep it a secret to outsiders. Most listings in Colorado and New Mexico have not been updated for more than 4 years. I remember <will not mention the individual> a New Mexico casino had 9/6 DDB on this forum, but none of them have been voluntarily reported.

Colorado is potentially a gold mine, a guest on a past GWAE episode from Colorado had success there.

If that professional gambler dream doesn't work out for Bill, maybe he can get a job as Billy the Weatherman.  I have a feeling he's going to need a backup career.  Actually the weather isn't that bad. These guys have snow plows.  We're having a great time.
