Re: Spin Poker
WEBMAN, DID YOUR PROGRAMER VERIFY THAT ONLY THE ORIGINAL CENTER DECK IS USED FOR DRAW HAND AND NOT THE EXTRA TOP OR BOTTOM DECKS USED IN THE ORIGINAL DEAL.
ALSO CURIOUS OF THE FIVE SPACES FOR CARD PLACEMENT WHICH IS THE BEST LOCATION FOR A DEALT THREE OF A KIND WHEN GOING FOR THAT ELUSIVE FOURTH MATCHING CARD.
EXAMPLE 1---3---5 OR ---2 3 4 ---, I HAVE NOTICED WHEN PLAYING MULTIPLE HANDS "9 LINES X 5" YOU DON'T SEEM TO GET AS MANY WINNING COMBINATIONS IF YOUR DEALT THREE OF A KIND IS 1 2 3 -----
OR -----3 4 5.
QUESTION IS DOES THE POTENTIAL CHANGE WITH CARD LOCATIONS.

The most important posistion for a card involved in a winning hand is just like Tic Tac Toe. In the center. It opens up the most possibilities.

Are you people really playing a game without strategy help, and without having any idea of the machine payout rating? Isn't that exactly what the casino hopes you'll do?

The strategy doesn't change from a single line game nor does the payback. What was being discussed was the # of decks involved and the most advantegous positon to find certain cards. Spin Poker can be played as a single line game. It has that option just like multi-line Slot Machines. The strategy doesn't change as in Multi-Strike.

FAYGO: YOU HIT IT ON THE HEAD WITH YOUR OBSERVATION THAT THE BEST POSISTION ON SPIN POKER 9 LINE MAX BET IS THE CENTER. THE TWO LEAST FAVORABLE LOCATIONS FOR THE 4TH CARD IS THE MIDDLE SPACE ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM LINES AS THESE ONLY PAY 2 WINNING HANDS. THE CENTER POSITION ON THE MIDDLE LINE PAYS 5 WINNING HANDS AND ALL OTHERS PAY 3.
im002546: I FIND THE MATHMATICS OF VIDEO POKER INTERESTING SO EVEN WITH AS CLOSE TO PROPER PLAY AS POSSIBLE AND TRAINING FROM DANCERS VPFW, I LOOK FOR A POSSIBLE EDGE.

I appreciate all the research you and others have done on this. I am now convinced that it is one deck. Thank you.
It would seem to me that this limits the payouts. Assuming 3 deuces are held, if the 4th deuce shows up say on the top line, you can't get it again anywhere else. This is different than what would be expected on a multiline game where 15 lines have an equal opportunity for the 4 th deuce to appear.
Since you are paying to play 15 lines, for example, you can only get paid on one or two lines (if the deuce comes up on the top line) with no opportunity for any other sets of 4 deuces. Maybe I am still not seeing the big picture so please clear this up for me as I am trying to determine if I should continue to play spin poker at the casino.
I will send a screen capture if and when we see this on either VPW or on this website. We only recall seeing it once or twice after a lot of playing time and it may have been on the beta version.
Thank you again for your help.

I always play, hopefully, perfect strategy, but there are some questions about spin poker that makes me question if the payouts are equivalent to payouts on multiline games.

Well, in multi-line you also would have to draw that deuce on multiple lines which is lower and lower odds the more lines you want to draw it on. Draw it once in spin poker and you get the rewards multiple times over. So I think that it does have higher variance but the payouts are probably correct. Feast or famine.

Monic: Yes, that is where the odds on spin poker equal out. As per your example, if you get dealt three deuces, you can only get the fourth deuce on one line. Let's assume you are playing 3-line spin poker - just the same as you would play, say, 3-line triple play. Only paying off across on all 3-lines. In 3-line spin poker, you have a slightly better chance of getting that fourth deuce. That is because you have 6 chances to get the card from the 47 remaining in the deck. However, if you were to get the deuce on the first line, you would be "drawing dead" for the fourth deuce on the second and third lines. In 3-line triple play, you would have slightly less of a chance to get one hand with the fourth deuce - because each line would have a unique deck where only 2 cards of the 46 would give you the 4oak. However, you could possible hit the fourth deuce on more than one hand (theoretically all 3). So, the slightly better chance for getting the deuce to show up on spin poker essentially statistically cancels out the slight chance that you could hit multiple 4oaks on the triple-play machine.
Next time you are at a spin poker machine, look at the writing on the glass - on the machine, above the video screen. It will indicate that the machine uses a standard 52 card deck.

Thank you. That makes sense. I can't believe I didn't figure that out on my own. I guess that's why these forums are a good thing.
The spin poker machine at Grand Victoria may have the one deck notice on it, but I must have overlooked it or it isn't in an obvious place. Now I am intrigued to take a trip and see where that message is.
I appreciate all the help on this topic. Now my head can stop spinning.
