Single Coin VP Strikes Again!

Post by FloridaPhil »

We got the the Hollywood Hard Rock Monday around lunch time.  Ground it out Dancer style with quarter VP all afternoon.  No nothing, just feeding $20s in the machines.  Same thing this morning.  I was down nearly $1,200 when I decided to throw away the calculator and go FP style.   I walked over to the high limit machines, stuck a $20 into a $5 deuces wild game and played single coin CS.   Got a small run up to $40 when I was dealt 3 deuces.  Picked up the forth deuce and cashed out $1,000 richer.  Now we're getting somewhere, but still not even.  Twenty minutes later I sat down next to my wife who was playing a firecracker slot.  Put a $100 in the slot and went for max bet.   Three or four hands later I hit three tokens and got 25 free spins.  Walked away with $1,000 more.  Grinding it out may be the mathematically best way to play VP, but it sure sucks in the fun department.  Should I give the money back?

Congrats on the wins. Just to be clear though, you didn't do anything "dancer style" here. Throwing his name into this scenario isn't helpful. You played at max bet and lost big time that session, you can leave it at that. If you brought some extra coin and played max bet on that $5 deuces machine you'd be singing a different tune and your win for the day would have been even sweeter. There are a lot of ways to have fun in the casino and it's good you enjoyed this one...it's always more fun when you win!

I only mentioned his name because he is the one who promotes that strategy. It's nothing personal. That's not his name anyway. I have never done anything but lose using a grinding it out VP strategy. If you do, great. There are more ways to win than are in his books. I'll take luck over skill anyday.

He turns a potential $5,000 win into a $1,000 win and proclaims his genius.

Better than losing and no W2G genius. The fact is I turned $20 into $1,000. Single coin pays better, at least for me. Of course you will never find that out.

That's the forth $1,000 single coin quad deuce I've hit. Other players never play this way, so it never happens. The only explanation I can come up with is the machines aren't random. I've suspected this for a long time. I know everyone wants to believe they are. Frankly, I don't care.

And surely you have detailed results over a large sample size that backs up this claim?
