I gotta say, if the best game available is 97.58%, this is ultimately not going to end positive. But I understand it is entertainment for you and you can weather the losses. I know it's just me, but I would never play that game for any length of time. As I've said, if the 99.5% games in AC ever get pulled, I'm done. As for 2017, started the year pretty good, 2 royals totaling 6k, 2 weeks apart in April, then downhill. Finished down 2k for the year. But many trips to the Amphora lounge, several nice steak dinners with my business partner, some rooms in the summer, so I'm ok with that.
I gotta say, if the best game available is 97.58%, this is ultimately not going to end positive
I am under no illusions that any strategy can make a 97.58% VP game positive long term even with comps.   Cutting the cost to play to a bare minimum is my goal.  There are no positive VP games within 2,000 miles of my house.  If anyone knows of any, I would love to hear about it.    The only mathematically positive VP game I have ever seen was at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.  My wife and I can fly there first class round trip for $2K.  I have an offer from them for free rooms sitting on my desk right now.   Given the fact that we would be $2K in the hole before we put our first dollar in the machine, it doesn't look like we will be playing there any time soon. This is the situation the majority of VP players must deal with, so we do the best with what we have.  Even if you can find a positive VP game, is there any guarantee you will come out positive long term?  Even Bob Dancer won't guarantee that.  For me, the risk of betting bigger is too great for the benefit received.
Yikes!  It's suppose to get down in the twenties at our house tonight.  In Florida, when it gets that cold we start chopping up our dinning room tables for firewood.

Sounds like you had a good even day on DW since you are up $200. You won that $200 using the free play on the slot machines. Good luck next trip and keep the log going.

Now if he could only figure out how to double his free play while breaking even.

Rooting for yah Phil. Doing something sort of similiar in Vegas playing the better but just as stubborn quarter 100.76% ER full pay deuces...and your results are much better than mine thus far!
Cheers!
