It's simple.  If you want to talk about Vegas style Video Poker or high stakes gambling, do it on the Strategy Forum.  There is no one in this world more knowledgeable about that world than Bob Dancer.  I know nothing about that world and never will.I want to spend my time discussing Video Poker as it exists in the average casino with average players.  I know that world well and Bob says he never plays there.  The owners of this website understood the need for two forums and were kind enough to oblige us.   Let's get on with our lives.  If you don't want to discuss playing negative VP games or disadvantaged players, don't read our posts.

Phil I disagree if you are saying that talk of Las Vegas video poker only belongs in the Strategy Forum.

Phil I disagree if you are saying that talk of Las Vegas video poker only belongs in the Strategy Forum. I totally agree. I consider myself to be a recreational player. That does not mean I don't play in Las Vegas. Discussing my Vegas adventures should not be banned from the recreational forum.

I asked a certain someone here to ignore me as well. But the vitriol and bile continued to rain. Combative casino critters sure love their catnip.I've asked to be ignored too by certain people who can't stand me and ANYTHING I write no matter what, especially since before asking them to IGNORE ME, I was already ignoring THEM, thus beating them "to the ignore"......FAA, kudos on usage of "Vitriol" and "Bile"......in past times, I myself might be criticized for usage of such elite, $20 words;   they suit you and your style well.....what did you get on your SAT Verbal Score in High School?

The Wizard of Odds forum (Michael Shackleford) provides teaching software at no cost, AND Mr. Shackleford has the genuine credentials to be analyzing the math of VP or any casino games.
All without the Dancer attitude as a side dish.

Phil, you can believe Dancer isn't "like this at all", but the facts speak loudly here on this forum. His intentional divisive and inflammatory schtick negates any reasonable words. Again, the FACT that you are banned from the Strategy forum, or Dancer would take his toys and stomp off, would not happen anywhere else. Ridiculous.

As I've said before, I hope you keep posting, but try looking at other forums that are helpful and friendly.Great points Doug. There are numerous terrific software resources available to the VP player: Wolf Video Poker (the best software out there IMHO), Frugal Video Poker, Play Perfect Pro (Android/Blue Stacks Android emulator for the PC),Optimum Video Poker,Video Poker Strategy Master (for generating easy to read strategy charts) ,etc. And yet there is a self-proclaimed expert who works for South Point Casino in Las Vegas who would have new players believe that Video Poker for Winners and his books are the only resource out there. Any counter-arguments are met with straw men and condescension. What's not to love.
