Re: Double Double Bonus Poker

I've played in Atlantic City once at The Tropicana.  I hit a Royal Flush so I have fond memories of that place!

I've played in Vegas several times. I go to the casinos that have the 10/7 double bonus poker machines.  I've done pretty well at The Palms one time.  The Wynn is nice but only had about 5 of the best machines. I did get comped some good buffets there though! I also did o.k. at The Tuscany but it can tend to be smokey by the best machines.  I went to The Orleans last trip and found it very dirty and smokey although I Know other people who have had good trips there.

I'm a heavy smoker. Nothing delights me more than to sit at the bar and
play and wait for someone to sit beside me and start waving their hand
in front of their face to move the smoke. I try to blow smoke directly
in their face till they get up and leave. Its a bar... In a casino...
one should expect smoke.

Some of the best odds on games in town are in the smokiest places.  The Orleans, Gold Coast and Arizona Charlies offer great vide poker games, but you do need to change clothes after a session.

Probably a reasonable trade if you have a good run and hit some jackpots!

I love DDB also. Practice a lot with Bob Dancer's tutoring program. Had real good time recently at the Sunset Station in Henderson. Nice high ceilings - air was good. Fiesta was terrible - too much smoke.  I love to play but hate smelling like smoke too and won't stay if a smoker sits next to me. (casino owners - PLEASE listen - there are a lot of people who like to play who don't smoke).

Didn't hit a royal this time but did hit 3 sets of quad 2's within 10 minutes! That was amazing....

I am what is considered a heavy player, yet I will not die for the game. If someone wants lung cancer just to play video poker they are nuts. I will either find a non-smoking area or I will move on.

You are so right, casino owners are missing a big part of the potential market because of their attitude toward smoke. I know lots of non-players who consider casinos to be dirty and unhealthy. It is said that the vast majority of the US population is non-smokers, yet a very small minority of casinos reach out to this market. This is CRAZY and they are losing a lot of potential business.

I respect smokers, but I don't want to inhale their smoke. I do not create a scene or start waving my hands in front of my face. I simply vote with my feet by finding a casino that also has respect for those who care about their lungs.

I was a health care professional before I retired, so take it from me, second hand smoke really does kill. I know several non-smokers personally who died from lung cancer, and on a national basis there was Dana Reeve, widow of Chris Reeve --- she died of lung cancer without ever smoking a cigarette in her entire life.

I probably spend more in casinos than 90% of players, yet some casinos are obviously saying they don't want my business because I don't like to choke on smoke.

Hear, hear!  We non-smokers spend as much as smoker's do. I'm with you . I know smoker's have right but but maybe they could have them in a closed area!

In DDB, what would be the correct hold on 2S,6S,6H,KS,8S. The pair? The four to the flush? In JOB I'd hold the four but I'm not sure in DDB. Thanks.

The four to a flush wins out by a long shot over a pair.
