in a 04/03/2020 article from usa today (no friend of trump), they draw on reporting from la times and bloomberg (again, no friends of trump) that the 2009 influenza outbreak caused a distribution of 2/3 of the nation's stockpile of n95 masks, and the stockpiles were never built back up. other articles state fighting ebola, hurricanes and other outbreaks added to the shortfall, when stockpiles were used and not replaced.

during WH presser the other day, jared kushner referred to nations stockpile of emergency equipment as 'ours'. in other words, the supplies were to be decided by federal government where to be sent and not just an 'ordering warehouse' for every state, when they needed something. the press could not wait to pound on this. they claimed the backup belonged to the states. i guess they assumed that if nys wanted to clear out the entire supply, the feds should just go along. a number of obvious left wing partisan reporters proceeded to pummel trump the next day. has anyone dared ask cuomo why the greatest city, in the greatest state, was so woefully unprepared?

when trump announced that task force suggested wearing face coverings, it was voluntary. when trump was asked if he would abide by new recommendation, he said no, he felt it did look presidential. again, some members of press jumped again, that he was not setting a good example. more phony outrage.

one made up phony story after another, trying to make trump look bad.

in the meantime, while trump is doing what he can to fight a pandemic, brought here via china, joe biden can't manage to put a coherent sentence together. does the media make any comment about his obvious mental problems, not a word.

tonight's headline op-ed on cnbc.com; US AND RUSSIA SHOULD WORK TOGETHER TO DEFEAT THE CORONAVIRUS.

unbelievable! nbc media has been no friend of trump, their msnbc outlet is as anti trump as there is on tv, the mother network has been little better, all the while overlooking their own problems (TODAY show, sex abuse etc). they have continued the russian collusion phony story, accusing trump of being a pawn of putin. and now, they are publishing a op-ed that encourages trump and putin work together.

isn't trump the one who has been saying for 3+ years that we need to be worried about china and should attempt to have better relations with russia.

Gov. Pritzker pushed back hard on the "our" statement. I think that the President should have at least pulled a mask out of his jacket pocket and modeled it briefly right there, just for the photo op PR value. Then issue some vague, non committal statement about his actual use. Nobody is thinking about such a golden opportunity down there.

watched cuomo's presser today.

-multiple times he touched his face
-he did NOT wear a mask

did the press pummel him like they do trump? of course not, cuomo and the press are on the same team.

They easily could have. Cuomo would have had some fast reassuring answer, given his legal/political background. And Cuomo cannot affect the behavior of 330M+ Americans with anywhere near the impact of the leader of the free world.

accusation by some dems, trump is/will favor certain areas of the country (republican), when distribution of needed medical supplies are handed out.

well, just look at where the supplies have gone so far, nyc, nys, detroit, new orleans, nj! sound like hotbed of conservative voters?

nys and nyc have literally gotten billions and billions of dollars of assistance. no other place will come close.

when this is all done and said, the places that will have gotten the vast majority of money and equipment will all be located in dem/liberal control areas, that were underprepared.

I agree Cuomo has done pretty well in his pressers, but if you listen closely, he is saying the same things as Trump, perhaps a little more eloquently. Interesting since both of them are from Queens. Probably because Cuomo knew his future was in politics and took public speaking lessons years ago. One of the previous NJ Governors, can't remember if it was McGreevey or Corzine was open about taking these lessons to communicate better. Trump was a business man and is clearly more blunt in his public speaking, but I think the average person doesn't hold that against him, and perhaps finds it refreshing because he does not engage in political speak. I'm from Queens and don't hold it against him. I'm only interested in results. I didn't like or vote for Bill Clinton, but he actually wasn't a bad president. Of course he had Newt neutering him for the last 6 years of his presidency.

Public speaking is a law school requirement!
