Harrah's, Joliet, 6-1-24

Post by Tedlark »

So Harrah's Joliet was promoting a 5x Tier credit multiplier for 6/01/24. Having just gone less than a week ago and taking advantage of a 3x Tier credit multiplier then, I wasn't too inclined to go to the 5x event. At 10:00 pm I talked myself into going and after taking a quick shower, I set off. I took a little more dough (in the event that I got stupid) than my usual, glad I had it. More on that later.

After walking through the doors about 11:30 pm, the place was pretty packed. All of my usual video poker machines were taken so I sat down at a machine which I have never played before. I also fired up some Double Super Times Pay just to REALLY get out of my comfort zone. After about 20 minutes of play, I was dealt 3 to the royal. Holding the three and pressing draw, up popped:

I played for a bit longer on that machine and one of my usual machines opened up so I went over and seeded the machine. Playing for a while, up, down, up, down, then:

That machine transformed from a video poker machine into a Hoover vacuum. I decided to take the rest of my bankroll after dumping quite a bit back into the Hoover so I walked back into the High Limit area where I mined gold last week. I started out on $2.00 denomination and wasn't doing much of anything. I decided to dip a toe into the $5.00 denomination and act like one of those people who post videos of you tune that FAA likes to watch. After playing for a few minutes, I was dealt quad 9's on triple play. I PRAYED for the fifth 9, the result was this:

Whiff:

After getting paid and apologizing to the slot attendant for not offering up a tip (because I was way down and she understood, her saying that I was bound to hit another soon and I'd make it right then), I dropped back down to $2.00 denomination and a couple minutes later, up popped:

I left not long after getting paid, and tipping the slot attendant, recovering my losses and a very tidy profit for my efforts. So, had I not hit the last 2 bailout handpays, it would have been a disastrous night for me. I did earn a little over 5,000 tier credits which will get bumped up to the maximum of 25,000 for the 5x Tier credit multiplier event. I'm taking a break from casinos for the next few weeks.

Good luck all.

Wow ted, you're really kicking ass! Maybe I should talk myself into another trip as well. Enjoy the good times...

But c'mon, no double royal on the two card draw?

Fantastic ending to the cool story Ted. Probably a good idea to take a break. They tend to bring out the deluxe version of the Hoover right after a great hit. At least for me they do. Congrats!

TT - I REALLY wanted that 5th 9 to fall into place at the $5.00 denomination. All in all though, it turned out to be a pretty good night for me. Considering that I didn't step foot into a CET casino for the first 3 months of the year, I'm in pretty food shape for Seven Stars again next year. I'm trying to take full advantage of Tier credit multiplier days.

Sorry for not being able to pull a double royal like recently.

Good luck to you when you play.

Thanks olds. They bring out the industrial grade Hoover and leave the consumer version in the closet...

Good luck to you tomorrow night when you go to MS. You should talk FAA into taking a trip over.
