Traffic Light Feature

Post by Bocket »

I am new to the Pro Training but I have seen online the traffic light feature where when you select a hand it gives you a red/yellow/green rating prior to drawing your cards. Where do I find that?

That is the Gold training mode, which can be activated under Game Settings below any compatible game while playing. Games can be seen here:

Is there any place that has an explanation of the rules for what to hold? For example, sometimes the "best" hold is three to a straight flush and sometimes three to a straight flush is NOT the best hold. Any place to find out the "why" of what to hold?

Pro Training would offer you some additional insight into these holds, in that it displays the Expected Value of each possible hold and you can expand these results to view all the possible outcomes from each one. Of course, learning from pure numbers isn't always easy and it can help to have things explained.

There are books that may be helpful.

I don't know if Bob Dancer is still teaching, but I'm sure a lesson from him or the resources he's provided players over the years would be a great help in learning differences about certain specific holds. He's spent years helping players learn these exact things.

And finally... we have some smart people right here on the forum and you can always ask about specific holds here and (sometimes) get a fairly complete answer to better understand why a specific hold may vary based on the other cards in the hand. These questions would be asked in the Strategy Forum.

I have a set of strategy cards that were created by him and an associate. They are an excellent resource. They were purchased quite some time ago in person at the Las Vegas Advisor office in Las Vegas, but if you check their (or Bob Dancers) web site, you may find that they are still available.

Yes, still available. LVA is a good resource.
