Re: Losing Streaks

Every year no matter how much I play which of corse depends on how well its going for me as far as hitting jackpots goes I end up a little ahead or a little behind. Even though I am down quite a bit right now I expect myself to get some of my money back. Who knows with a couple of real good trips in a row I might get back to even.

Just because you have come out even in the past means nothing for future gambling. It's one of those hidden "hooks" that exist in random events, especially with volatile games like DDB. You can do much better than "expected" for quite some time (even millions of hands). You can also do much worse than 'expected".

If you haven't analyzed your play and are simply "hoping" your current results will continue then you may be in for an unpleasant surprise.

I have often felt the same way.  I usually play the lower amounts until I see the machine hitting, then switch to $1 or $2.  All on triple play double double or double bonus machines.

I suspect this strategy will continue to work until it stops working

Losing streak comes to an end!!!!!
After working around the Tunica area me and a buddy decided to make a quick stop at the Grand but upon arrival we noticed several police and Grand security vehicles in the adjacent parking lot because of an apparent suicide. Anyway we lost interest in gambling and just left. Today we worked in Marion, Ar. which happens to be where Southland is located. After some begging from him he finally talked me into going with the understanding that when I lost $100 it was time to go. I dropped $20 on two different machines and headed for the VP machines in the back. I was all alone back there so I had my choice of machines. I was playing Double Bonus $1 at max bet and was hitting a flush about every other hand then I finally hit quad kings($250) then a few hands later I hit quad 3's($400) two hands later came  quad 6's($250) quad Q's($250) quad A's($800) all of this on the same machine. The machine had spit out a ticket for $400 and one for $800 which I slipped in my pocket and I still had a little over 600 credits on the machine which I had decided I would cash it out if I lost down to 500 credits. Right before I reached the quitting point I held A,K,J of spades and bingo Q and 10 of spades($4,000). Ended up cashing out on the machine with the 500 credits for a total of $5,420 after taxes all on the same machine. I played a few machines at $2 max bet and lost a quick $300 before hitting quad aces ($1,600) ended up walking out $6,600 to the good. Thank goodness, that put a dent in my losses for 2007.
