I can only report the experience I had and the way I thought about it, whether others agree or not I dont know.
I was playing a triple play nickol machine one night and winning like crazy. One of the local high rollers ( I and my husband see him around but dont really know him) said I seemed to really be hot that night and offered to have me play at the dollar bar with him, he would split half the winnings with me. Personally I would not have done it for anything less. Its MY TIME & MY BRAIN PLAYING THE DANG HANDS, anyway I agreed. My husband and his wife were off playing other machines.
I hit $1000 pays 5 times, (he hit nothing) the first four times he kept at what he said and gave me half, the 5th time I hit he told me to keep $400 and give him $600, I did and then said I was done. A deal is a deal as far as Im concerned and he decided to change the rules.
As far as Im concerned with you and your friend you should split equally period. end of story. Its your time and the way you play that might hit those Ace's, Royals etc and you should be compensated. Also he is doubling his chances of winning by bankrolling you and having you play. As far as taxes are concerned personally I feel if you hit "it" you should have to pay "it"
