AFTER A FEW HOURS I WAS HEADING OUT THE DOOR AND SAW A 50 PLAY MACINE OPEN SO I SAT DOWN AND WAS PLAYING FOR A WHILE AND GOT DEAL 9H, JH,QH KH 50 HANDS MIND YOU AND WOULDNT YOU KNOW NOTHING NOT EVEV A STRAIGHT FLUSH. SO FOR THE NIGHT I WAS 0 FOR 70 HANDS BEING DEALT 4 TO ROYAL I KNOW THEY ARE ALL INDEPENDENT HANDS BUT WOULDNT YOU THINK I WOULD GOT 1??.

Hey Farmer the answer is simple: both machines (certainly the 50 play) were programmed NOT to give you the royal at that particular time. Nothing you can do about it.

The odds of hitting on 4 to the royal are 1/47.I believe the odds of not hitting within 70 tries would be 46/47 ^ 70.That's 22.2%.So it would happen to more than 1 in 5 people. Not too infrequent, really. You were just on the short side of luck that day... better luck next time I hope!

Farmer:
I was at the casino 2 weeks ago and I had the same issue. I was playing 5-play and I kept getting dealt 4 to a straight flush, 4 to a royal, 3 aces, etc. and could not connect!
I feel your pain; it's just soo frustrating!

For the last 3 years I have average about 1 hit for every 64 times (10-639) I've been dealt 4 to a royal. At one time I went 208 tries without a hit (then I hit the next two in a row) and another time I missed 199 tries in a row.
It has nothing to do with programmed machines. It is just the way randomness works out.

I used to play alot of 100 play. There were times when I'd be dealt 4 to the royal and pull none, there would be times I'd be dealt 4 to the royal and pull as many as 9 or 10. It's all variance and evens out to the correct math over time.

I agree with you farmer. Play more and you will hit them. Tell her in another 40,000 hands you likely will hit one again. Well you can hope!

Shadowman, your probably right but you don't know that. One of the biggest gaming scandals ever uncovered in Vegas happed since the advent of the RNG and it dealt with Video Poker. The manufacter of American ......Enterprises rigged many many of their machines buy programing them to only his jackpots 1/2 of the time. This was only uncovered because a computer geek who worked for the Commission was genius enough to figure it out. They estimated that the firm made around $15 million. They got the crooked computer programmer as a witness against the owners of the firm but mysteriously the poor sob was shot dead in his driveway. All indictments were dropped and nobody was ever convicted of any wrongdoing. This story has been on A&E or the Discovery channel--cann't remember which. As someone who obviously knows alot about VP you surely must know of this infamous case. God only knows whatever rippoffs where never detected and/or are in effect now. I'm sure that the vast majority of all VP is totally random but you simply cannot make a blanket statement that all are on the up and up.
