Help! $200 slot play other than VP?

Post by Lucky Larry »

Headed to Red Rock and Palms and have $200 (their money) at each for slot play.

Red Rock's multiplier offer is 7X non-VP slot play; 5X on VP.   We generally only play VP but are considering playing this $ in regular reels or video slots.   What are your suggestions?

Do we play lower denomination so it will last longer and garner more points on the multiplier?   Do we play higher denomination with options for better returns? Which games do you recommend?

Thanks,
LL

I'm confused. Is the $200 in Free Play? Or is it your $200 cash from previous wins?My experience during "Free Play" is that no points are awarded.  A couple of years ago, I witnessed a lady win $50k on a high limit slot with her "Free Play".  She was playing off $500 in "Free Play" and had lost it all.......................Until the last pull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red Rock is a Stations casinos and points are awarded for free play, not sure about Palms but my guess is points will also be awarded.
The denom shouldn't matter as points are awarded based on coin-in and you only need to play the $200 through one time. As always VP is a better choice than slots as the return is typically 3-5% higher. You'll never make that up in point value.

Clarifications: The money is "free play" although we have paid for it - reward for past play.

I re-read the offer. 7X on all slots for the entire visit and 5X on VP during the trip at RR. So the free play $ becomes just the extra play option. With RR VP pay tables we might play it at a higher denomination to see if we can get a nice hit off of their (our) money.

LL, Stations Casinos give out a base of .1% for points. The money can be used for comps. I know they added an option for turning points into cash a couple of years ago as well. I can't remeber if it's a 1-1 ratio though. So,  7x is worth .7% and 5x is worth .5%. Not nearly enough to make up for the 3-5% difference between slots and VP.

In addition, the Optimum games cut your point value by 1/4. So, keep that in mind as well.

I wasn't sure if the multipliers were only valid for your freeplay. Thanks for clearing that up. I always keep separate records for my freeplay. No real reason, just like to know how I'm doing. Of course, I get some every week so it's a little different than once or twice a year.

brmcc74,
We play a lot of low denomination VP 25¢/50¢ (often 10-14 hours/day) and we both play on one card per trip even though our accounts are linked at RR. We have never been able to figure out the free play. Last summer my wife was offered $450 free play or a $500 credit card for shopping at the mail. Now since we don't get out every six months our offers are dropping. Also we understand since the account it linked marketing is telling us one of us will get an offer then the other.

We are also staying at the Palms for the first time. Their cash offer was better than RR this time and we don't play them near as hard as RR. Go figure.
