Nice hit kjohn, I have always prefered seeing quad aces with a kicker on TDB over a royal but I'd take either one.

I'm not like Eduardo, I might have held only 2 aces in hopes of drawing the other two back - NOT !!!

Oh my gosh...The question for me would be how much did you have to invest to play a $5 machine...I'm afraid my bank roll would be depleted rather quickly and then what would I do?  Sitting in the room reading a book is not my idea of a fun vacation....Putting on a bathing suit is out of the question and I can only eat so much...but I did stick my head in the High Limit lounge and contemplate the $5 machine for a few minutes....

That Hit - Total Investment:  $100.00

Now the rest of the story.

8am:  Received a call from our Harrahs host offering us two seats on Mr.
Lovemans Falcon 2000.   It was being used to ferry up some Whales to
pay off their markers and she'd like to put us on the manifest.  OK by
me.

2pm:  Departed Falcon Field in Mesa Arizona to Las Vegas.

4pm:  After checking in and getting settled, we headed down to the High
Limit area to thank our host for the most awesome plane ride ever.
While doing our grip and grin, I popped a benji into a $5. VP machine,
and told her not to expect us to pay for our plane ride in the High
Limit Area.  We had budgeted a grand a piece for this trip and we'd be
back on quarters after this one shot.  The last hand spit out 3 to
Royal.  On the draw, the rest of the family showed up.  Took a check for
$20k.

7pm:  Limo'd over to Palace Station and listened to a 14y/o guitar
phenom playing with a band in the lounge. He was/is one of the best I've
ever seen and heard on guitar.  After the show, we pass their empty
High Limit area and decide to try another $100 in the $5 game TDBP.  On
the second hand I'm dealt 3 Aces in the middle.  After I hold them, I
close my eyes and say TYJ and hit the button.  My ears tell me by the
familar "clunk" that I caught at least an Ace.  Opening my right eye
confirmed it.  Then with both eyes wide open and much to my surprise,
there was the "trey".  Oh happy day.

With that kind of hit at Palace Station, every suit, security guard,
cocktail waitress, bus boy and janitor in the place is congratulating me
on my good fortune.  Go figure.

All that excitement also caught the attention of my wife. She sits down
next to me at an identical machine and decides to play a hundred as
well.

On the first hand she holds  a pair of threes.  Her machine was super
slow and just like a slow motion movie, the cards play out.  First with a
3, then a 4, and finally another 3 for a 10k payout.

It took almost 2 hours to get paid.  They had to open the machines,
check the eye in the sky, and find my id that they had somehow
misplaced.  Hopping we'd keep playing I guess.  We didn't.

Needless to say, it was quite a weekend.  Not only for us.  Our fellow
passengers it seems ended up taking out New Markers for their losses, and were pretty quiet on the way back home.

Here's the other pics.

WOW! Congratulations! What a fun story!  Wasn't it hard not to share your elation with others on that plane! My husband feels he has to warn me about that every time I win something to avoid getting us both killed, his words. What a great bankroll for next time!

Marie,Firstly, I agree with your hubby 100% especially in an open casino setting where everyone and his brother can watch them count down the money.  In the High Limit areas not so much. As for the folks on the plane.  Our $50k win would have meant nothing to them.  While we were enjoying staying on the strip in a really nice suite. Most were at the Rio with the 24 hour butlers. etc.  The others at Caesars with the same or better amenities.CK
