I have told my wife, and friends, that if they EVER see me playing this game in a casino, they are find a 2 x 4 and smack me over the head with it! This game is probably rigged, in the casino, like most of the other VP machines.

Do you have anything to substantiate that statement? Other than "everyone knows" arguments? We've got one...or two...or a hundred threads here that make good cases why machines would not be rigged.
Negative return paytables + randomness + legal option of lowering paytables adds up to a pretty sweet deal for casinos. Potential loss of license is a deterrent as well.

No, have nothing except gut feeling. Four years ago was so much better. I suppose they could lose a license, IF any body bothered to check the machines. Besides there are those "set-asides" in the regs for certain operators, so I've been told.
Just my opinion (which means nothing to most folks)

I think that's a good reason to keep track of at least basic info like total hands played and RF's. Players can go considerable amounts of time finishing above or below average in RF's. Without records, during a nice run a player may think they're hitting at the expected rate and anything less than that may seem like a dry spell. With records, I'm more appreciative of those times when I'm hitting RF's at a nice rate.
I don't go through the Nevada regs like I do for the ones here in Colorado, but here there aren't exemptions for certain operators. Regulations are updated periodically, and casinos are allowed to file for time extensions to get their existing machines upgraded or to get exemptions for older machines that they have in place. In both cases the state has to give approval; casinos can't simply decide on their own whether or not to comply. Any kind of exemption just means those machines don't need to meet a new specification; they must still meet previous ones.

The Nevada regulations are available on the web to anyone who wants to see them. In many cases the these regs were copied by states when they set up their own regs.

!4.040 is the one that covers much of what we know about VP fairness.
In addition, the casino DO NOT and CAN NOT program VP machines. They can only configure them using options provided by IGT (and other manufacturers) which result in changing the pay tables.

My scores are very stinky, only hit 4000 once. I keep waiting for the big hit. How about next contest no multipliers just straight poker. I really enjoy the contests though.

Yes, it would be nice to play straight down and dirty poker for a change rather than hoping you get lucky...
