Top winners - how?

How have top contest winners been able to get such high scores?   What is their strategy?

I think its more luck than strategy-Ive gotten some good hands but never with a good multiplier. sigh

in contests you play double double or games like that swing for the fences and play 16 hours a day as the player needs 2 dealt big hands royal or aces with a kicker to win

It will always take a big lucky draw to get onto the board in these contests. But there are strategies you can use to increase your odds (especailly in the bonus prize on many contests).
 
For instance if you think a 12x royal will ne necessary to win this ultimate X contest, you can make plays that increase the number of 12x's you have a chance at. You'll still need that lucky royal flush, but you've improved your chances at least. Someone might win doign this, or someone could just get totally lucky. I think strategy plays a role in deciding between 1st and 5th sometimes... but to have a shot, you need that miracle hit that we see several people get every month.
 
The same is true in the casino of course when it comes to winning jackpots. There is no strategy to GET a royal flush progressive. Just strategies to improve your odds of it before someone else does.

i broke up a winning hand to try for a royal and got it at 8x pay.i'm off the board now but boy was that exciting!!!
