Re: What do you think of this theory?
I had a feeling this was going to take a turn for the worse so I'm going to tread lightly and hope I don't ruffle anyone's feathers. From what I understand there's around 46 states that allow gambling of some form and theres somewhere close to 1,700 casinos in the U.S. {don't quote me on that}. I think damule mentioned the possibility that a very small percentage of casinos might be corrupt which is pretty much my feeling's also. I understand the part about "why would they" but my question is "could they"? Even if the video poker machines are said to be standard Class III VP machines would it not be possible despite the possible consequences? Remember the BP oil spill? Why would they cut corners, I meen they were already making a pretty nice profit. It also seemed like they had a few people in place with a list of regulations to keep them in check but something must have slipped by the radar.

Good point. "could they"
This is what shadow has been trying to get across in this thread. The guys who run casinos are not the same computer geeks that write the gaming software. Yes, it's possible that some casino bigwig could pay off some programmer, living in his mom's basement, to write a corrupt prom and have it installed in his video poker machines. But does anyone really think this is happening in places like The Bellagio, The Venetian, Wynn, Red Rock, Caesars' Palace, etc, etc, etc. It's not. These are major corporations that are more concerned about cutting the pay and benefits of their employees than cheating. If it is happening, it's in some podunk little town that if anyone squeals about they'll be missing the next day. I don't think that's the casino any of us are talking about on this thread, so let's move on.

Damule, I don't believe dynomite is a troll. Just someone who hasn't done the homework required to understand this topic.
I got a good laugh at the video. Typical lies. He knows good and well that his 5th card flip-overs have been PROVEN to be wrong by independent testing. Just another lie in his long, long list of lies. And, as most people know, if someone lies about the little things you know they lie about almost everything.

I don't know, but it kind of makes me go HMMMMMMMMMMM. Especially here with the indians in California. Its almost impossible to win in any of the casinos here, so the conspiracy theory part of my brain kind of went ding!!!!!!

WHAT? You mean to tell me there is no way to GUARANTEE an exact payback precentage based on random numbers.
That's crazy talk!

I tried to leave this alone but............ Since the game is random, which means that any one hand dealt is independent from another hand, then it is although nonprobable but possible that a person could play 1 million hands in a row and not get a paying pair. What measure is used to calculate when we should be ahead or behind? I personally dont have an infinite bankroll. Just curious

The measure is simply the pay table on the machine combined with your skill level. It's just like flipping a coin. Yes, it's possible heads will come up in 1 million flips in a row, but the probability is heads will comes up right about 50% of the time. The more flips, the closer to 50% you'll be. The same with video poker. The more hands played with perfect strategy, the closer to the pay table percentage you'll be.
