Damule, Aren't you the one who warned marie about not doing something for which she could be charged with a misdemeanor?  Are you suggesting felonies instead?

New,

Obviously I'm more concerned with the consequences of the actions of others rather than those of myself. In other words, after punching the beggars in the face just say something to the police like: "he must have fallen," or run like heck.

Hey Mule, First off, you made me laugh (Thanks for that).  Secondly, I agree that if more people took this action, there would be a greater disincentive to begging.  I didn't consider that you had already planned evasive action after the deed.

Almost every time we are in Vegas, we see an older man on the strip collecting donations for a missionary. Who knows where that $ is going?

Sure missionary....probably the missionary position

As I had suggested to Marie, the change light is very effective late at night, as the change people are usually just walking around. During the day, when approached in a casino here in Las Vegas, I have said "Get away from me or I will call security" loud enough to be heard by the people near me but not overly loud to make a seen. They do scamper away and the people around me are aware of this person in case they decide to hit upon them later.

Had a guy in AC last hit me up last year, I gave him a few bucks just to get rid of him. Ten hands later I hit a royal. Thank goodness he wasn't there to see it. Makes you wonder.

Tweeetttyy and gingin555, WELCOME to forum and thanks for adding to this topic along with vidopoker, New2vp, and feline! It's contributions like yours and the preceding posters already mentioned that help make this site fun and interesting!
In Brussels, we saw several gals, of a specific nationality, holding their babies and begging for food for their respective baby at the train station and elsewhere. A tour guide was adamant in telling us not to donate to them and that they did not need the money for baby food. She added that it was very hard for the gov't to get them off the streets because of the way they move around. Casinos and gambling areas apparently have the same problem with beggars, in general. All the moms and babies looked healthy.

A slightly different kind of begger...

During my most recent Harrah's AC trip this past week I had the unfortunate honer to be the mark of a slightly different kind of begger.  This is the type that starts up a conversation while I'm playing VP at the bar and then asks if I want to party.  I decided to use a line that I read her and told her "I'm here to gamble".  She kept on talking, and basically started telling me what to hold.  She was not a very good Deuces stratedgy player let me tell you!

Fortunatly I was in a good mood so it was not to terribly annoying.  She then went in for the kill and asked an unthinkable question.  I believe I responded with "not gonna happen" all while smiling.

Afer a while she requested that I tip her for bringing me such good luck.  This is while she was getting the bar tender to give her drinks because she was "with me".  Whooaaa...  Then she asked if I could give her some money to tip the bartender.  Again, I laughted and told her "not gonna happen"...

When I finished my session I got up and left, the woman had gone to the bathroom and was probably mad as hell when she came back and I was gone.  I just love it when these folks guilt you into thinking they've earned a tip.  Doesn't work with me.  Not one bit.

I saw her later when I came back to the bar and she made a little comment, but again, I wasn't bothered in the least.

In hindsight I should have complained to security.  These girls should not be hanging around harrassing the guests.  Next time I'll be more proactive.

rover,

When "ladies of the night" approach me, I just punch them in the face. Usually they'll leave me alone then.

I`ve been approached by the ladies of the evening several time at the Taj and the Borgata. They will say the same thing that they are looking for a party. The first time (at the Taj ) I said the party was last night since it was New Years Day. The second time I said "not tonight ".

To be sure, always ask if they pay income taxes.

It has become very clear that if you annoy damule your going to get punched in the face.
