5 of a kind probability
Does anybody know the probability of getting delt a 5 of a kind when playing Joker Poker?
I figure there are 13 ways to do it, but the deck has 53 cards instead of the usual 52.
Hope somebody who knows math better then me can answer!
Thanks

Mathematically 5 of a kind occurs every 10,994.22 hands in AC Two Pair. I assume this includes having it dealt. as one of those occurances. In Kings or better the number is 10,713.76.
Shadowman, help me out here.

Thanks Faygo
But I think those numbers are for the draw rather than for the deal.
I know in regular Jacks or Better the chance of drawing to a Royal is about 1 in 40,000, and the chance of getting a Royal on the deal is about 1 in 650,000.
That is why I am wondering about the chance of getting a 5 of a kind on the deal rather than on the draw!
Thanks again
Mark

There are 2,869,685 5-card hands in a 53-card deck [combin(53,5)]. You are correct, 13 of those would be 5Ks. So the odds of getting one dealt, in video or table poker, would be 13:2,869,685, or 1:220,745. Playing 1,000 hands an hour 24/7, you'd get dealt one a little more often than once every 9 days.

2 pair Joker Poker is probably one of the toughest v.p. games to play. 5 of a kind is a nice payoff at 4000 coins, but you get very tough plays like holding 2 card flushes and 3 card double insude straights staring you in the face. I only wish 4-of-a-kinds would pay more in this game.---CWA---

Chuck, I agree. If 4 of a kind paid 100 like in Kings or better instead of 80, this would be a much more attractive game. Just when I think I got the strategy down for this game, I go brain dead and make a bunch of mistakes. I still love to play the Spin Poker version though. The thought of hitting the progressive gives me the all overs.
