Hollywood Casino in Toledo
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the new casino in Toledo, Ohio to add some variety to their video poker inventory? I just stopped there this weekend and all they have are single line game king machines ranging from .25 denominations to $2. The pay scales are not very good either. How do we get the great games that are offered here at videopoker.com? We need triple play, five play, super times pay, ultimate x, multi-strike, etc. Any advice would be appreciated as I really feel this casino has potential. Thanks.

"Satisfaction brought it back...." despite the discouraging above post and another couple who spent a half hour there yesterday and LEFT, unable to find slots they like, I visited this new, state of the art, world class, Vegas style casino, today. Single line .25: DDB and JoB 6/5 and TDB 7/5. Game King. YIKES! Denom on these machines .25 - $2. Fortunately, the four decent casinos in metro Detroit and Windsor, that are half the distance for me, have better pay tables! I did not see any multi play machines but admit I did not check out the entire casino. It's easy to find, south on I 75 from metro Detroit, exit 199B, on the banks of the Maumee River, towards Rossford. The huge casino glows on the right hand side as you are heading south and near that exit. You cannot miss it. 70 MPH in MI becomes 60 MPH in Ohio! Scenery en route included an abundance of trees and trucks, tire CHUNKS, as this is a major truck route, two dead deer and one dead mattress. SPACIOUS helps describe this casino with super high ceilings, super wide marble squares for walk paths, granite counter tops and art deco accents and designs through out the casino. There are large pix of former movie stars. Two features: Epic buffet and Rodeo Drive, a small boutique store w bling and more. Vintage movie reel graphics decorate the sides of the redemption machines. No complaints about the decor! One guy in the elevator heading to the parking structure stated that "There are no winners because it is a new casino". (!) when I asked what everyone thought of the place.I was SO happy to get back to MGM Detroit and better pay tables on my way home and their Grand Nachos at Breeze. That is large enough for two or more! "LIVE HERE, WORK HERE, PLAY HERE" was on their billboard as one nears the MGM casino.

"Get a player's card before you touch a machine" has always been my advice to anyone going to a casino for the first time. HOWEVER, if you had seen the line for cards today, you would understand why I did not bother. Plus the fact I knew I would not play long or be back. That casino should have had more employees at that player's card desk! Our friends had mentioned that on Sunday, the place seemed almost empty. I doubt if Detroit's Grand Prix and Tiger's game on Sunday affected their lack of addicts. Someone mentioned the whole casino is non-smoking. We attended the opening at Cosmo in Vegas and I also did not get a player's card. I learned later that they were issuing temporary player's cards out on the floor of the casino that night. Brilliant idea that other casinos would do well to utilize.
Only the words "tribal" and "powwow" on the Hollywood casino web site gave me the clues that it is a Native American casino.

Boy, sure glad I read both of you and Marie's posts before I went to Toledo! The Hollywood brand seemed to go down hill a few years aqo when they were bought out by a different company. We used to go to the one in Tunica MS, and was a wonderful place to play vp, both husband I I would usually hit several royals and 4oaks on our visits there. When new company came in pay tables were lowered and no one seem to be winning much. Their progressive at bar was 6/5 on doubledouble and people were waiting for seats! Now Im going to live an hr away from a Hollywood and doesnt seem like it's going to be any better. On the other hand, the new Horseshoe in Cleveland has tons of machines, a lot of the games we play on here ( Ultimate X, Doulble Supertimes Pay) decent, but not great paytables, but no one seemed to be winning. Neither one of us got a 4oak in the whole afternoon and noticed no one else seemed to be winning either. I think all the casinos are starting to think the can make more on penny/nickle slots and they are flooding their casinos with them. With saavy vp players, they think they are losing to much money. Anyway thanks for tip about Toledo. Luck to both of you. Hi Marie!!

Any ideas of how the people can change this? If enough people complain about it, wouldn't they have to change it? I should just print out a bunch of fliers with www.videopoker.com on it to get the word out!

Just heard Hollywood is redoing their video poker. I hope video poker .com has a huge influence on what they bring in.

My experience is that most casinos have a VP of Slot Operations, who makes the decisions on selection and placement of machines. This is the person to whom you should direct your concerns, copying the Casino General Manager.
Personal experience - I was a loyal Mirage Las Vegas patron who yearned for TDB VP. It took over five years and numerous Slot VPs before they FINALLY introduced TDB. Persistence did pay off.

I heard that Hollywood Casino, Toledo seemed almost empty last weekend. NOT a good sign for a newish casino! However, I can vouch for the jam packed casino at MGM GRAND Detroit last Sunday. This could have had something to do with an appreciation gift mass mailing.

The Taj took DWB and DBDW off their machines. I called my host and got the name of the slot operations person and called and asked nicely oif they could put those games back. They called me back to tell me they put them back on theof the machines. Better than nothing!
