Lake Charles
Planning quick trip to Lake Charles in the next week or 2. I have only played the online games but wanted to try the real thing. Where are the best payout machines at the moment in Lake Charles? Thank you.

78 what denomination do you normally play? This will help me respond.

.25 and .50 mainly when I play multihand. $1 on single hand plays. I prefer the multihand for the speed of play, but would like a higher pay odd over anything.

78,
Welcome to the forum. If you're playing multi-hand 25¢/50¢ I would think you're choice depends on when you go. Both have 97-98% STP and a couple of Isle machines (3/5 play) have 9/6 JOB and one has NSUD 99.73% in 25/50/$1 denomination.
Its often hard on weekends to get a machine at L'Auberge du Lac while Isle generally is not as crowded and machines are available. If you play lower play multi-hand the choice is Isle. They have 98% 5¢ and one 100 hand STP - 5¢ which has 99% -9/6 JOB, 8/5 Bonus and DW.
Do you already have a room? or need a contact?

No, I don't have a room. I live in Houston so I will just take off after work one day or pick an overnight trip on the weekend. Thank you for the details on Lake Charles. I have been trying to search for the type of slots and get as much details before making the trip. I even wondered if it would be worth going to Kinder.

If you head to LC and are interested in Isle I'd recommend you contact the host on duty: Cliff, Troy, Justin, Carol or Mac and tell them you're a new player and they will most likely comp you a room for one night to check your play. During the week we often just call the day we head over but weekends are more difficult because they are usually booked unless you call at least a few days ahead of time. The Isle has two hotels the Inn (across the street) and the Tower (connected to the casino).
We've not been that impressed with Coushatta (Kinder) - maybe we haven't played it enough and we've not stayed there. Many people seem to like it.
Check the "VPFree2" link for Gulf Coast casinos.

Spring,
Depending on where you are in Houston you might want to consider going to Lake Charles by turning onto Hwy 73 at Winnie and go through Port Arthur and then Bridge City back to I-10. The route is a little longer (couple of miles) but divided low traffic 4 lanes X 70-75 mph through the Wildlife Preserve which is a nice relaxing drive. With the lack of traffic the drive time is actually the same. Just make sure you slow down in Bridge City.
