Post by Nancy J. »

When playing deuces i'm dealt 2 deuces and 2 cards to a straight flush...do I hold the 4 cards or just the deuces? Have Mac and can't get Dancers video. Thanks!

It depends on the game. For FPDW you hold two touching cards between 6,7 and 9,T with the deuces. For NSUD you hold them if they have one gap as well. This same strategy play is valid for one deuce as well.

Have you tried any of the other software packages. I don't know what works with macs and what doesn't. You could download vipoker and see if that works or get the demo version of WVP and try it out. Neither will cost you anything but your time to try.

Dear Nancy J.,

Dan Paymar has a video poker software program for the Mac called OptimumVP (OSX) which wil train you to play many positive EV games. Unfortunately, he hasn't added the capability to generate strategy cards. If you know what you want to play, the most complete cards are Bob Dancer's. Jazbo Burns, Jean Scott, and a few other people also offer strategy cards, or if you have a friend with a PC, you can generate strategies with VPSM by Tom Ski.

Best wishes,

John
